Well today is Day 4, at least I think itâÂÂs Day 4. Where are we going today? Oh yes thatâÂÂs right, Epcot.
Our big mission for the day is to get Holly sushi. She is dying for sushi and we cannot deny an expectant motherâÂÂs request. Of course, Chuck and I love sushi (and saki) as well, so this was not a difficult request to oblige. Andrea, Tim and little Sydney are definitely not sushi fans, but they humor us fishheads.
We get to Epcot just as Future World is opening and we make a brisk walk to Test Track for fastpasses. No need, there was no wait at all. Yipee. Chuck, Andrea, Tim and I walk on. Holly sat this one out and waited on a report from us to see if we thought she could ride. Thumbs up for Test Track, it was really fun. Breaking through that wall and coming out into the open is a blast. The four riders consulted each other and we confirmed that the little mother would be able to ride if she properly braced her legs during the âÂÂbreakâ test portion, which seemed be the only âÂÂiffyâ part. By that time, fastpasses were needed and while we were waiting for their return time, we all walked over to Fountain View Bakery and got some yummy pastries. Chuck, not being a pastry nut, went to Innoventions and explored. When he returned, I got a nice report on the exhibits we should see later in the week when the kids left. We got to spend some quality time with Sydney and watched while she performed for the rest of Disney World. I have a little ham for a Granddaughter. She had people enthralled with her imaginary baby that Great Grandma and Grandpa had to help take care of. The kids returned, no problems for Holly Dolly.
Next I wanted to see Food Rocks. We had not seen this during any of our other trips and I thought Sydney would really like it . Well, the one who really liked it was Grandma. What a hoot !!!! The Peach Boys cracked me up. I embarrassed my grown children again (my goal in life) by laughing and clapping my hands along with the music.
World Showcase was open by now and I insisted as always that we walk via the Rose Garden pathway. âÂÂNow kiddies walk slowly and enjoy these incredible roses.â Much to my surprise, they actually did. Holly and Andrea stopped, admired and sniffed the gorgeous flowers. Funny how the older they get, the more like Mom they get.
Walking slowly around the lagoon, we stopped at Germany to get some of their wonderful Becks Oktoberfest beer. Of course, when you get beer, you must get a pretzel and Chuck got a pretzel the size of his head. We could have fed a small island in the Caribbean on that pretzel. We also took time to enjoy the model train set. How adorable.
On to the sushi !!!!! I had read terrific things on the boards about Matsunomo Lounge and thought we should give it a shot. We walked right in (no PSâÂÂs) and were seated by the windows with a lovely view of the lagoon. Our waitress was such a sweetie and very helpful and did not blink an eyelash when we ordered a ton of sushi and enough saki to float the Queen Mary. The non-fishheads ordered chicken of some variety. I paid no attention to their food, I was in a feeding frenzy donâÂÂt you know.
After making complete gluttons out of ourselves, we walked back to the U.K. and listened to the British Invasion. Boy did that music bring back a flood of memories. Auntie Andrea took Sydney to the KidCot station and had a ball making beautiful masks.
Next we stopped at Canada to listen to Off Kilter. This ended up becoming a mission for the rest of our stay in WDW. Both Chuck and I flipped over this band. What fabulous music. We ended up buying one of their CDâÂÂs. This is a must do for music lovers. Holly, Andrea and I got Chocolate/Maple Beavertails, I wasnâÂÂt impressed. Too sweet.
Well, itâÂÂs nap time. Since we are going to MVMCP tonight, itâÂÂs definitely nap time. The kids decide to catch the next TON and meet up with us later.
Our usual meeting spot back at WL is in front of the fireplace and I canâÂÂt tell you how pleasant it is to sit in the rocking chairs and just chill for a moment or two.
At around 7:30 pm , we headed for the dock at WL and caught the ferry to MK for MVMCP (love that ride at night). Now I was under the impression (thought I had read it somewhere on these boards) that MVMCP tickets were limited to 20,000. Well there were a lot more than 20,000 people there that night. In fact that was the most people we saw in any of the parks for the whole trip. We got to ride Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear (I stunk, I couldnâÂÂt get the hang of it). Now mind you it was nice and the fireworks were spectacular, but I donâÂÂt think it was worth $30.00 pp for this event. The place was jammed !!!!! We did get in to see MickeyâÂÂs Twas the Night Before Christmas. Terrific show !! What talent Disney performers have. The lines to have our family portrait taken were huge and Sydney ended up falling asleep so we passed on that (big regret now). The âÂÂsnowâ on Main Street and the hot chocolate and cookies were pretty cool though. All in all, IâÂÂm not sure IâÂÂd do MVMCP again.
By now itâÂÂs 12:30 am and beddy bye time. Tomorrow the Hula Hula girl gets a cooking lesson.
