There is no way that Donald and company did not know ahead of time he was getting rid of 4 people in one week. I am sorry. That would set the scheduling back a whole month? No one can tell me that they did not go into this season knowing 4 people were going to leave in one week. It was curious for me, until the cab. As Jen was putting her luggage in the trunk, the boys were already in the cab, I KNOW I saw a smile on one of their faces. Then, when they showed all 4 sitting there, Jen had all she could to not to burst out laughing. Funny....I think I would be more than a little PO'd, I would not be smirking, or smiling. Nope, they knew this was going to happen.

Lat season, when he fired 2 people, i thought for sure he would not fire anyone the next week, because it would screw up the schedule. But, he did fire someone the next week, and someone every week after that until the finale. Tv does not work that way. They have a set number of weeks. So, now, I even think last years "shocker" was scripted also.

Well, no doubt some of this is scripted but they tape these shows a season in advance. The powers that be knew way ahead that there would be a "shorter" apprentice season. I'm sure NBC will drag this season out with apprentice behind the scenes type of shows or THE Donald this, THE Donald that.

It's always been obvious that the final scene of them leaving isn't real. I mean come on, they all have little tiny suitcases and no garment bags. They could easily stretch one task over two shows or have a couple of those recap shows they usually have.

They tape all of them leaving before the shows start. Notice the cab number is the same. Also their outfits don't match what they had on in the boardroom.

Mark Burnett is very good about shaking up his shows so that they are NOT the same every season, so we don't get bored of them as readily. Rest assured that what Burnett claims is real is actually real.

I've always thought that too about the suitcases. I'm like come on, I take more than that for a 5 day vacation.

I recall reading an interview somewhere that there is footage of Bill Rancik doing the "walk of shame". Rancik said that they tape the "exit" sequence at the start of the whole Apprentice series. On the Extra site they tell us the suitcases are even empty!

OK - what did I miss? DH and I watched until they said who won the task and then we had to go.

He fired the whole team?

Okay, I am going to be really superficial here. I was sorry to see Jen go. She had beautiful hair. It always looked perfect. If I could be born again, I would wish for her hair!

No, he sent Rebecca, Marshawn and Brian back up to the suite. Brian because he was exempt, and the girls because the had some sales. James, Jennifer , Josh and Mark were told to stay. Donald then said because it was the worst loss ever, and they all failed, they were all fired.

OH! I hated her on-camera interviews. They seemed so staged! How her hair was always perfect, and she was would stand against a wall or some other backdrop, as if she were in a photo shoot.

I don't necessarily think that means the show is scripted. We have to remember that they taped this months ago, before they determined the number of episodes, the episode schedule, etc. And like someone said, they can EASILY turn one task, into two episodes, have a recap show, etc.

I think in this case what happened was the team did SO bad the producers said hey, this would be the perfect opportunity to do something different -- let's fire them all. It certainly was a shock, but well deserved since they did SO bad.

Maybe they planned to have some weeks where they fired someone from each team, or fired multiple people. I just can't imagine them planning to fire four people in one week.

As far as the exit, it's definitely "scripted." Why wouldn't it be, though? They want to get the same "look" for every exit, so they just have everyone do it the same way. I kind of like it.

The shot of the four of them in the cab was HILARIOUS.

I think even if I was upset for losing, I'd laugh about 4 in the car too!
I believe many of the "interview" shots are more staged. I think some of them are taped after the fact...as in "how did you feel when, etc." I don't see how they have time to fit them in, if they're really supposed to be working at 100%. Let's face it, it's a tv show, certain things are built into the contract. It's taped way in advance so there's plenty of time for editing and extras.

The ride in the cab only goes around the block. The fired folks come back and stay in an apartment in the same building that they were living in. The fired and non fired folks still socialize. Bill, I think that's his name, talked about it after he won the Apprentice. They still see each other but it gives the appearance of leaving.

Ok, yes it's "reality TV", but let's face it, it's still TV! Scripted or not, I love the show and will continue to watch! I really don't care if it's "real".

They do this so no one really knows the outcome of the game until the end.

Imagine being that first one fired, and having to stay there the entire season.

I wouldn't say that this show is scripted, but instead Trump trying to stir up publicity with a little bit of controversy. Thw show hasn't had the same ratings since Season 1, and Season 3 was pretty much a low point. So, I feel that Trump saw that he had the opportunity and the excuse and went ahead and did it. Plus, that team did horribly, they didn't even understand the concept of the challenge, so all 4 deserved to go. When he is in the board room, I bet that the episode order and schedule are the last thing on his mind.

She's a beauty queen and still living as one.

I guess she should have spent time practicing ZA-THU-RA while coiffing her hair last week. :rotfl2: .

I thought it was bad--last season was it--when both teams LOST a challenge b/c they produced horrible commercials. But this certainly was worse as it was the first time the competition cost the host company sales.
