The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

I think you're right! I'm so happy it's 2 hours-I love this show! :cool1:

I used to be a Survivor addict but no more...

The preview for next week shows they stop at an orphanage...that's going to be really emotional for me as my soon-to-be daughter is still living in an orphanage.
Survivor was my show until I found Amazing Race during it's second season. I still watch Survivor, but if it were up against AR, there would be no contest!!!
Congrats on your new daughter!

So funny when Lynn or Alex said that Rob and Amber are like an STD, you have to protect yourself against them.
I'm so sick of the boyfriends and their hatred of Romber, but I was lmao when they said that! They are funny when they want to be.

What a great show tonight :)

I'm glad that Patrick and his mother are off...he was so whinny!

Rob and Amber continue to amaze me...they have IMHO brought the AR to a new level.

QUESTION: Will Uchenna & Joyce be penalized for saying they were looking for the boat on the detour, but stumbling across the island and taking the clue there?

I'm excited to see next weeks show it looks good...I kinda think next week will have a non elimination as well.

I have to say that TTWSNBN really cracked me up today. Even though he *thought* about taking a different car with more gas in it. At least she nixed that idea. The looks on the plane were priceless. I was disappointed that they won a trip for the leg when the previous winners won nothing. Oh, and the boys are starting to annoy me with their constant kvetching ... although the STD comment and the biatch comments were pretty funny. I hope they find a different thing to talk about soon. FWIW, I thought they were pretty good losers about the whole dead boat problem.

I'm glad the mother/son team got booted, although I liked them until now. The son was a snot and looked like an idiot riding without stirrups. He had no control over the horse and he's lucky he didn't get thrown. Speaking of getting thrown, I want Ray to stop whining about being with the "dregs" of the game. Sheesh. Why don't they just lose already?

Lastly, I was also quite pleased that the brothers moved up to second.

I have tried to like Ron and Kelly but he has no personalty at all and she isn't much better.

I totally agree. They have absolutely NO personality. Lynn and Alex are beyond annoying with their constant chatter about Rob and Amber. Next weeks episode looks really good.

Thanks Bengalbelle. It's really too bad about the boyfriends because I think they're probably very witty and funny. We've seen glimpses of that. But the audience doesn't get to see much of it since all they talk about is Romber.

Glad the brothers did so well and still rooting for Uchenna and Joyce.... thought she got a really bad deal with such a spirited horse...kinda dangerous if you ask me.

And thank goodness they got rid of the whiny "mama's boy"...those two were driving me nuts..

Next week let's get rid of Ray and Deanna...he's just such an arrogant jerk and she's about to fall to pieces..

Scary preview for next week...OMG...that poor old couple all bloodied up...not to mention the brothers' wrecked SUV :scared:

Next week is gonna be so great! :goodvibes :Pinkbounc

Another great episode! Nothing to add that hasn't been said already. Just so glad another whiny, annoying team is gone!

GO ROB & AMBER!!!!

I didn't think that Joyce and Uchena would get penalized for switching roadblocks since in other shows if one wasn't working out, the teams could switch to the other roadblock. They are still my favorite.

I could do without Rob and Amber and was so disappointed when they made the first flight. They sure do know how to play the game though.

Glad Patrick and Susan are gone-too whiny for me.

Can't wait till next week.

I too am glad the mother/son team was eliminated. That kid's whining was really annoying.

Rob and Amber need to shut up with the "we're so great" stuff. That smugness has gone beyond being cute. BTW, I am convinced that CBS is helping them through this game and that REALLY bugs me.
I'm not convinced there is out and out cheating, but it would not surprise me if they manipulated something if given the opportunity. It wouldn't be unheard of. Whether you like Romber or not, they're pretty much single handedly saving this show. I'm certain the producers and CBS want them to get as far as possible.

Once again Rob proves he is not a nice person. Good at the game, yes, but not nice. As he was getting on the plane he says "How's your stomach, Ron?". Now, was it really necessary to rub it in that every team on the plane but Rob and Amber had to actually eat the 4 lbs of meat? Nope. I seriously hope Amber watches out, because Rob's personality does not seem to me to be conducive to a marriage. I know I could never be married to someone like him.

Tonights show was really good!

I thought it was funny that Rob/Amber changed placed in the line up with the boyfriends. They came in 1st this week...5th last week. And the boyfriends came in 1st last week...5th this week.

Glad to see the mother/son team go. I was a little worried that this would be a non-elem night, so was quite glad when mom heard she could not play any more.

Really happy that next week will be two hours, but it looks like it will be a rough two hours. The old couple get bloody. And the brothers have a really bad car wreck. It looks like one of thier camera men get hurt. I wonder how they would work that? I guess we will find out. The TV Guide said that two teams will be leaving, but they could be wrong. They have in the past. But I -do think its time for a non-elem round.

ETA: VERY SORRY! I know some people may interpret this as a spoiler. I will change to white. So sorry if you already read it and didn't want to!
Took me a few minutes to figure it out.

This has me intrigued, I will be curious to see how it plays out.

My thoughts are that CBS will not allow Rob and Amber to win (yes, I think they are "helped" as needed) but that they will make it to the final 3. They are huge for the ratings and CBS won't take the chance of losing viewers by having them be eliminated.

And what is up with Ray? He really should spend less time talking about how "he's not going to be beat by a 70 year old man" and more time worrying about himself. Personally, I'm impressed with any older couple that even tries to play this game!

Does Ray not realize that he too will be "old" some day unless he dies first! He should hope he will be as spry as Meredith and Gretchen are when he is their age. Talk about disrespect. I wish his boat had broken down.`
Am I the only one not liking the new setup of "catch one of two planes." It seemed much more of a challenge to drive yourself to the airport and catch a plane to the destination. If you make the first plane, you are pretty much assured of not being eliminated. The three on the last plane had no chance of catching up to the first plane. So, Meredith and Gretchen were right when they said, "One of us three will be eliminated."

Anyone know why they changed this part of the race? I liked the idea that it was a flight free for all. It was entertaining to see how clever the teams could be to beat each other. Wonder if it was because they were getting multiple bookings?

Ray made me sick this episode. Could he be any more rude. I can't wait for him to be eliminated. And I hope he goes before Gretchen and Meredith. I like Alex and Lynn, think they are funny. Hope they stay around for awhile.

I think the "catch one of two planes" has to do with transportation in certain countries. The producers probably have to book reservations for some of these flights to ensure the teams can get out of a location in a timely manner. They've done similar things in previous seasons. Plus, I think they have to consider security- the first season of Amazing Race was filmed pre-9/11. They have had to be more security conscious every subsequent season.

I was :rotfl2: when Rob and Amber made that plane! And Rob riding the horse struck me as funny, too.

I totally agree with you noseybuddy..I, too, also was totally struck by Ray's constant rudeness to those two other teams...it was beyond competetiveness. I also think Alex and Lynn and the two brothers are nice and funny. I absolutely hate Rob...hated him on both Survivors, and hate him just as much now. Totally my opinion, but it's what I feel. Rob and Amber's luck seems to be a little "constant", and "convenient."
I love the show though, the last episode when they were in Santiago especially...I was just there at Cerro Santa Lucia just in October...dang, probably just missed them! LOL :rotfl:

Ray kinda reminds me of Jonathan from the last race...just no yelling.

All of his remarks about the teams he was stuck with tonight, reminded me of the time when the teams from the last race, were in Norway, and Jonathan thought he and Victoria would be the first to the rest stop because every one else was to stupid to figure out how to get there.

I really like the brothers and Alex and Lynn. I keep hoping that they'll at least beat Rob and Amber. While Rob is kind of amusing, the Romber team is just a little too smug for me.
