The Amazing Race 6...Official Thread

Yep, Rebecca decided to suck it up and play the girlfriend role to get Adam through the rest of the game. He does seem a lot happier and will probably perform better with that strategy, but I feel kind of sorry for him. I actually loved it when he was ranting about wanting to go home and she said great, lets go - that's the Rebecca we know and love!

I have to say I was thrilled to see Adam without his horns for a while!

Wow - am I the only one happy to see Lori & Bolo gone?! I was getting real tired of them. Proof positive that the game is a lot more than brawn. 'nuff said.

And didn't Rebecca & Adam learn anything from previous Amazing Race shows? There are always the "great equalizers" - like them or not. You can be on a train behind all the other teams - it won't matter if the place you need to go to next doesn't open for another 12 hours!

I was sad to see Lori and Bolo go...I didn't like them at first but they grew on you...you have to admit that he (and maybe she) are not the brightest bulbs in the box!! I had to laugh when he made such a point about being careful to read the clues!!

Speaking of Jonathan and Victoria...check out their website...and his comments about the donkey!!

I thought it was so nice that Kris comforted Bolo...they honestly seem so genuine...they actually felt bad about hoping that the monk rushed the blessing because they are both religious but they were in a race. They appreciate everyone and everything and always have a please and thank you...they apparently had a very good upbringing. Go Kris and Jon!!

Adam seriously needs the Super Nanny! He needs a time out stool or rug to sit on when he throws his tantrums...I can't stand when he yells at Rebecca and then tries to be real lovey dovey!!

Maybe Kris and Jon can use the European trip they won for their honeymoon. Such a nice couple.

I like that Aaron is really talking back to Hayden...she was whining about him not grabbing the little jitney and he gave her a smart remark!!

Also wondering who keeps track of how many roadblocks/detours each person does since each person can only do 6--do the teams have to keep track of that (I'm sure that originated because of Chip and Kim since Chip seemed to do all of the roadblocks)

LOL- We can put Adam on the naughty mat.

Lori and Bolo were just on the Tony Danza show and Bolo said they got on the show because his agent in Orlando got him the audition.

I'm thinking Adam needs to be on some serious medication for manic-depression. ::yes::

Am I the only one sympathizing with Kendra...she had a horrible stomach problem.

I guess unless you have been falling down sick and pushing your body to do things b/c you have to do them--you cannot look past the Kendra stereotype and see that she was responding EXACTLY as anybody would under the condition of puking your guts out for a few hours in a row.

It had absolutely nothing to do with her feeling sick. Her stuck up attitude comes from what she did earlier in the race, not last night. As far as her being sick and puking, I think everyone can understand that part, I think we all have been sick at one time or another. Her previous comments throughout the race have been TERRIBLE, and that is what I base my comment on. I don't remember the exact words, but when they were in Africa her concerns were people "breeding", "choosing" to be in poverty, needing a bagel (or was it a croiscant?) after leaving the slave house. they reaired all those comments on the show that was a review of earlier episodes. So they displayed that wonderful attitude she has many times.

What? I went to the AMR web page way in the beginning and the first step was filling out like a 600 question paper. Now you need an agaent to get on the show? I think the AR is getting to much like like great looking couples doing Fear Factor.

I guess I'm naive. I was really surprised when he said that. Even if it were true, I don't know that I would have said it. Tony asked them what their motivation was to be in the race and Bolo started talking about his agent and how they (I guess meaning CBS or the audience) would like them because they're professional wrestlers. It sounded to me (from what he said) that it wasn't Bolo or Lori's idea to be on the show. It was the agents. Sad if that's true. I know soooo many people would have loved to be in their place.

Wow, I had no idea their agent got them the audition....hmmm....makes you wonder doesn't it?

I do! According to Jimbo's unofficial stats, there have been 9 roadblocks so far. On the first leg, Iceland, there wasn't one. The way each team remaining has divided up the roadblocks is:

Freddy - 5, Kendra - 4
Jon - 5, Kris - 4
Aaron - 5, Hayden - 4
Adam - 5, Rebecca - 3
Adam and Rebecca got to skip one of the Roadblocks when they used the Fast Forward.

The numbers were kind of surprising. I thought Kendra and Hayden weren't doing their share, but I guess they are. It does mean that each of the men can only do one more roadblock, and that could be a big deal. We'll see.

I usually don't read this thread, but I Love Amazing Race...Heres the order of who I'd like to win:
1) Kris and Jon...really they're the only team I want to win.
2) Kendra and Freddy
3) Hayden and Aaron...she is a mean person though and I feel bead for Aaron
4) Adam and Rebecca...both of them have some serious issues. He is just dumb and she's even dumber for putting up with him. The thing that bothered me most about them, is yielding Freddy and Kendra for Jonathon and Victoria!

Cool- thanks for posting that. I was wondering what the stats were last night.

I also really want Kris and Jon to win- I agree with whomever posted that Phil looked thrilled that they were in first place! They are just pleasant all around.

As for coming in second...sigh.........................I really admire Rebecca's attitude and go get em attitude. I think she's a GREAT player. But Adam? Yuck. Total whiner. Hayden just GRATES on my nerves with her ability to flip out so easily....Aaron does a good job of putting up with her. And Freddy and Kendra just rub me the wrong way- I think she is a stuck up snot (And I'm not even talking about last night---I understand she was ill) and he's gotten snotty at times too.

I just hope Kris and Jon can stay in the lead because it seems several other team members noted last night how "Kris and Jon are our strongest contenders right now...they are very strong players." I hope they don't get yielded!

LOL I thought they came up with that rule because of Charla & Mirna. Mirna made that poor girl do EVERYTHING. I was :rotfl: when she had her carrying that HUGE side of beef.

It's interesting that Adam has done more than Rebecca and Rebecca makes it out like he doesn't do anything and doesn't pull his fair share

I noticed that, too. And one of the roadblocks that she did was that stupid soapbox derby thing in Germany. That wasn't much of a challenge at all. The only hard one she did was eating the soup in Hungary. But she rocked on that that one!

I stand by my statements...she has taken a flip turn and not behaved as terribly as before in the past 2 episodes. You can edit out terrible behavior, but you cannot edit in sincerity and joy which she did show in the past two episodes.

ITA. And I think it's one of the virtues of this show. You take people completely out of their element, and show their reaction. Some people can't handle it and melt down. Some people learn to handle it, though. And I think that's Kendra. She was pretty repulsive and elitist, but she's had her eyes opened by her experiences.

That bit about "choosing poverty" was more a case of Kendra being an airhead, because she was trying to pay a compliment to the villagers. She's a model, and just not very bright.
