grr I had no idea it was on at 8PM tonight! I caught the last 20 minutes though. What was the deal with the cars?

Apparently a car well known in Hungary--and evidently well known for being a piece of junk as they had tow trucks on standby with spare vehicles. One team didn't even get their first choice car out of the airport parking lot as it had a dead battery.

The Trabant was the main car available for the citizens of most of the former Eastern Bloc countries. If you remember back to when the Berlin Wall was opened, there was a lot of film footage of them being driven across the border by East Germans. I remember reading that there was something like a two year waiting list to get a Trabant.

Grrrr CBS. Why on Earth did they make it a 2-part episode??? In the "tantrum" scene from next week the only two teams that I don't see are the wrestlers and "hellboy". All the other teams are there.

I remember after the Berlin Wall fell one of the news magazines had a sidebar article about the Trabants -- they actually compare very well against a riding lawnmower.

According to this site it's a 2-cylinder 26 horsepower car with a non-recyclable cotton-backed plastic body and it was originally intended to be a motorbike with a trunk instead of a car.

If the cafe doesn't have a clue to the pit stop, then Bolo and Lori may still have a chance. They're far from being the furthest behind anyone has ever been ... I remember in the first one Team Guido was almost a full day behind the winning team and found out they lost somewhere in Asia.

I'm really getting to like Gus. I'd love to see either him & Hera, Hayden & Aaron, or Jon and Kris win. Anyone but Jonathan. The sooner he's eliminated the better.

Still in Alaska, Joe & Bill were told the race was over. Bill reflected on the race, "It proved to us everything that we knew about each other was true, it enhanced everything about our relationship. We have learned so much on this race; we're changed forever. It's fantastic."

I did not like that they waited till the end to tell us it was a 2 part episode.

Jonathan has GOT to go! I couldn't believe he was still whining about the airline with Gus. Give it up!

I really like Gus and Hera's attitude. They seem to appreciate all that they are experiencing.

But, we did get another view of Gus without a shirt. That is a bit more than I care to see

to the people who missed it - one part where Jonathan was a PITA was when Gus and Hera stopped at a travel agent prior to arriving the airport and snagged the last of the tickets that J & V were just about to get. They had to take a later flight. The rest of the show everytime he saw them he started harrassing them about how they were able to steal his tickets. He also screamed at the ticket agents about how they caused him to lose the race. I wish every cab driver, ticket agent, etc. would refuse to serve him. My new hero is the cab driver who kicked him out of his cab.

I have to say that I'm very impressed with Gus's attitude. I would have punched Jonathan in the nose they way he kept going on and on about missing that first flight.

Some LAUGH OUT LOUD moments of last night:

Jonathan gets in the little car, he is all excited "because he KNOWs cars" In his excitement he exclaims "I know where the the clutch is" Then they show his foot pressing down on the clutch.

I looked at my DH and clapped, and said he is a genious! He actually knows where a clutch is in a car!

Then when they got pulled over by the cop ( I was gleeful) the cop told him he did not have his lights on, Jonathan then politely asked him to show them where they were supposed to go, so the cop let them follow. (not anything that hasn't been done before with other teams) Jonathan gets in the car and exclaims how "he amazes himself with the things he can do" HUH???? You nicely asked for help, and the cop was a nice guy. I bet if you treated the cop the same way you treated the cab driver, you'd be sitting in a jail cell right now. Funny how you can be nice when you WANT to be!

The biggest LOL moment, when the cab driver ejected them from the car! Oh how excited was I!!!! I was disappointed they found another cab so fast, and then he gets in that cab and starts yelling at the driver, an even greater moment would of been for that driver to say "FINITO" also!

Jonathan's day is coming, I can feel it.

DH has been to Hungary many times on business, and as soon as he saw the cars last night he said "Those cars are a piece of junk!"

Who was the couple that was shown sleeping on a bench at the end when everyone else (minus Lori and Bolo) was going into the internet cafe?

Wow! Wasn't expecting a cliffhanger at all! Since they've already done the roadblock & detour, wonder what they have in store for next week. Do you think they'll do an elimination in the 1st 10 minutes, then another one at the end? Or, maybe they have a new element/competition to introduce.

I sure hope Lori/Bolo aren't the next ones to leave. They've really grown on me. I have not heard them say anything bad to other players, locals, or each other.

I am still really hoping Jonathon & Victoria are disqualified. The make Colin & Christy look like saints......

I was suprised about the cliff hanger ending as well. I hope something happens and Jonathon and Victoria get the boot. I really hope she divorces him after this...b/c I can't imagine being married to someone as terrible as that. I'd be ashamed!
