The All New Pop Century FAR OUT FAQ Thread!

I have not heard any problems as of lately in regards to parking.

LOL..the only reason you haven't heard that from us, is because we gave up on the 70's parking and moved to the far lot meant for another building. We drove through the 70's parking tonight, and couldn't find one spot. I think when I go home I will change (I booked their vacation for them) my sister's ressie's to Movie's...she will not be happy with the parking, and if she ends up in the 90's I don't think I'll get her to come back to Disney (this is their first trip).
Tonight, I'm not a happy camper, so excuse any negativity. I have several people out on the walkway smoking (they are in the room two down from us, but for some reason move down here to smoke)...and we get to go through a very thick cloud of smoke, trapped by the floor above..when we went down to get a pizza, and then when we came back, the stupid smoke got sucked in and even with the fan on, it stinks in here...I actually think the fan pulls it in from the outside..but it's the only way to get the smoke out. Why oh why couldn't they have gone downstairs and a little away from the building. Every time they use their cell phone, they seem to need to smoke and bring others with them to smoke..right out front of our room!

Well finally its my turn to post after reading every single reply here!!! Its great to see the rave reviews for this resort! For every post i read i get more excited!! I can't wait!! And of course i have to thank Tyler for all the help and advice he's given!! Don't know what i've done without this Topic!?!? Hopefully i'll see you in February and get a chance to say Heyo. Anyone else goin down February 23-29 and stayin at POP???

My dear son has decidied it is "gross" to share a bed with any family member... we should have seen this one coming. Anyhow that is sort of a problem, since he will need to while we are staying at PC. Or will he? Do they have any sort of cot or roll away you can get in the rooms?

My son and daughter have the same opinion of sleeping with others in the same bed. We solved this problem by taking the mattress of a cot (it was small enough to roll up and put inside of a medium sized suitcase) with us and my son slept on it while we were at ASSp. You could also take one of those mattresses that use an electric pump to blow it up. We got one of those for guests, but never had to use it at the All-Stars because our daughter is 18 yrs. now and thinks she is too old to go to WDW with us. What did I do wrong? She doesn't love Disney like I do.
Thank goodness my 11 yr. old son does love it like I do and so we go every year!

I am waiting for those single digits myself!!! We have a little longer to wait...less than three weeks now!!! We got snow here in WV over the weekend and I am soooo looking forward to some warmer weather. Our highs for the week are only in the 20's, unseasonably cold for us right now. Can't wait to break out the shorts and short sleeved tops!!!

Orlando....here we come!!!!

We'll be there the same time as you and I'm really looking forward to some warm weather. Where do you live in WV? We're in Montgomery County, MD. I hope the temps are very cold here right before leaving for FL so it will seem even warmer down there.

We are in Charleston - Kanawha Co. We are considered to be in the southwest part of WV. I can't wait to feel weather warmer than 20!!! ARe you staying at the Pop Century???

Okay this is a basic guest services question. If its been asked before I am really sorry.

I will be there the week leading up to Valentines Day. Our trip is just DD and me. There is sort of someone back home I'd like to send a package to (once I buy it for him at WDW). Is there a way for me to ship this FedEx or Airborne from the resort? It will be a simple pouch package, nothing big. I already know what I am getting him.. just have to find it. awww forced to shop! LOL

I have noticed people saying NON SMOKING rooms (which we requested) but do they have NON SMOKING buildings? ( I would request)
Are there signs on the doors that say non smoking room?

I guess some smokers just don't get it. Why would a smoker want to stand near a non smoking room and smoke. I think sometimes they do it just to make us non smokers mad.
I think I might have asked them nicely to move on. 2 people in our group is allergic to smoke and the rest of us HATE the smell.

All the disney shops will ship Fed Ex or UPS directly. I shopped in downtown Disney and thought I could buy a shipping envelope at POP and then send it by post.They didn't have any. But I waas advised to go to any counter in Everything Pop to have it shipped. They labelled it "after Purchase Shipping" after checking my receipt and sent it from POP. Then, a week ago Sunday, they said it woiuld take 6-8 weeks because Disney's shipping dept was behind due to Christmas. Smarter would have been to have brought an envelope or package and got stamps from guest services. I decided to send at last minute so didn't have options. I couldn't see trying to find room in suitcase, claiming it at customs in canada and then mailing it back to the u.s.

Yep, I'll be at the Pop with my 4yo. This is a bonus trip for us and I'm excited to be staying at a value resort--we've never stayed at one and I'm hoping when my whole family goes to WDW next January that we save some $ with 2 value rooms. We'll be there this time from 2/6-13--most of the time at WDW with a couple of days at Universal. My other kids are a little jealous...

We'll also be at Pop that week. I'll be there with my 4yo son, just the two of us. I'm looking forward to a vacation centered around him since he usually has to go with the flow with 3 older siblings. Have fun with your daughter!

Ok, Attention Pop Century experts........................

We are thinking of possibly doing a family reunion sometime this year at WDW. We are trying to decide between Pop Century and Riverside.We fell in love with Riverside and would love to stay there,but, would like to try Pop Century.

Will our 80 year old grandma like staying there? First, let me start by saying grandma is very,very active,she can't sit still and I know for a fact that she has more energy than me.I know she would love Riverside for it's beautiful landscaping and it's quietness.How is Pop Century?? Is it loud like the All Stars?? I'm really having a hard time deciding!!

Please help!!

Hi, Ziggie!

Shoulder length blonde hair and I usually wear a black cap with a lime green ribbon hooked around my Figaro (of course)(smile) pin on it. My spouse has an almost shaved head, and knowing him, lots of beard stubble since his idea of being on vacation means that he doesn't have to shave(smile).
