breezeway balconey > No matter what you call it there are NO INTERIOR CORRIDORS. They are all open and on the outside. They are the only way to your room.

Yikes, what do you mean you had a problem with the room temp? Aren't there controls in each room???

Smart move on the parking..although we are in the 70's building right now and have already started parking in the 80/90..not only because it's closer to our room..but because the 70's parking is filled..which is surprising considering the resort doesn't seem to be very crowded yet. They tell us it will be this weekend. I am happy we didn't get the 90's building. I know Tyler you said it was a close walk from all the rooms, but I think I'd disagree with you there..we walked it today, and it was a hike to the lobby LOL! Believe me, with all the food we have eaten, we needed the hike.

I did find a big negative for us last night. The pillow!! It's way too fat, which I'm sure is because it's new. They sent us up a couple of feather pillows (they said sorry..it's all we had that weren't big and fat..since they are all new). It was like sleeping on a round bolster. But I consider that a small problem. I'm not thrilled with the room temp..I find 68 sort of hot, but I understand why they are doing it, and it's liveable..at least for this time of year.

The people at this resort are the friendlest I think I have found at any of the resorts. Guests services is wonderful..and one of hte gals in the cafeteria, noticed my DisBoard green (glad someone did!), and I mentioned Tyler..and I think he would blush at all the nice things she had to say about him, I guess she trained you when you were a student at Disney.

I love being in a non smoking building..and so far no on ehas been smoking out on the walkways outside the rooms. In fact this is the first time I've been at Disney, where I didn't notcie much smoking at all at the resort..so I ssume the smoking is being donw in the smoking room areas,
I really enjoyed sitting on a bench watching the ducks on the lake (reminded me a lot of POR)..although I did give some people walking the wonderful path a laugh..I had on my walkman, and apparently I was singing along..they found it amusing. I was at the pool soaking up the rays, but some guy was snoring so loud (relaxing place), I decided to move to the river bench.

I am curious..Tyler, I see the main building at the end of the bridge to no where..are there plans to continue the building?

All in all, I'm very pleased (as is my hubby) with this resort..we've walked all over it and it's just such a pleasure..I love that they have trees too! That will be great in the summer.

Oh, and I found the answer to the question about the frozen cokes. Yes, it's part of the beverages you get with your mugs..but right now, it's out of order!

What exactly do you mean by "open"? Are there no railings?
 You're teasing me. Yes there are railings. But remember that I don't like heights. So I don't care if there are railings. I want walls that I can't see through. And that especially includes elevators. Which is why I haven't done the Skylon at Niagara Falls, and why I did the CN Tower with great trepidation. Right, AND I didn't do the Tower of Terror. My signature should be Nervous Nellie.

There are individual thermostats in each room. Ours seemed to only go down to 68, so I was content. Considering the outside temp last week that was warm.

Yes, but they can only be set to a low of 68. My hubby says that will feel cool in the summer..but I like it cooler than that. Even this trip, we have wished we could have been cooer a couple of times. We keep it cooler in our bedroom at night at home in the summer. I am anxious to see what happens this summer.

Just so y'all know, if you should desire a cooler temperature than what your current thermostat produces, you can always call Engineering Services (there is a button on the phone) and they will come and swap out your thermostat with one that is programmed to go even cooler. :)

Thanks for the info. I am one of those people who must freeze in order to sleep. You should see my electric bill.

Thanks for that tidbit of info Tyler. I don't think we will need the temp any lower than 68 as we will be there in less than three weeks, but it's nice to know we can have it lower if we need to!!!

Thanks A Million for all of your hard work on this thread!!!

Cya There!!

:wave2:

Our family likes it cooler than 68 degrees to sleep. Thanks for letting me know we can get it cooler.

We are not leaving for 206.9 days... I have over 100 days before I can make PS'. How do you all pass the time? I'm going nuts!

we are leaving in less than two weeks..it seems like it was just yesterday i was planning this thing and my counter was back up at like 70 days...oh i cant wait i cant wait......:Pinkbounc

Tyler, thank you SO MUCH for the information on the temperature! I don't regulate my body temperature very well because of the medications and it is good to know that if it is too warm we can get the room a bit cooler!

Tyler,

How have the crowds been this past weekend? Was POP pretty full? How's the parking situation going?

DD (10) and I will be there in just 6 days!! What's the weather been like? Here in Metro Atlanta, we're having winter and the thought of shorts & short sleeves is giving us goosebumps!! :hyper: Laura

What do you mean by Pop Century being a "Magic on Demand" resort?

Q: What about transportation?
Transportation from Pop Century should be very good. Because of the anticipated demand, buses will be running more frequently than some other resorts. During peak times, buses could potentially run every 5-8 minutes. Pop Century will be a “Magic On Demand” resort. (MOD will be based out of Zone 5)

Pop was at 100% this past weekend.

I have not heard any problems as of lately in regards to parking. The only caveat is that some spaces might not be as close as others.

As for weather, it's kinda overcast today, scattered showers, but should be improving as the week goes on.

I don't mind a long walk to my car - it'll probably stay parked the whole time anyway!

Are many guests wearing summer clothes for the parks - or should I leave the shorts at home? What's an average daytime temp lately? How about after the sun goes down? Thanks!

I was wondering if someone can tell me some of the foods the store at the Pop Century sells. In particular we are wanting to buy things like a loaf of bread and milk to save us the trouble of finding a way to a grocery store.

Thanks in advance!

It's been cool in the AM/PM, but the midday has been decent. I personally wear shorts at work, but then when I go out at night, long pants.

Question-

My dear son has decidied it is "gross" to share a bed with any family member... we should have seen this one coming. Anyhow that is sort of a problem, since he will need to while we are staying at PC. Or will he? Do they have any sort of cot or roll away you can get in the rooms? I doubt it, but thought I would ask. I have a good while to work on him, and he sounded interested in the idea of a sleeping bag...maybe after a few nights on the floor he will change his tune.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

LOL I wasn't teasing honestly I didn't know what you meant by "open". My DH is deathly afraid of heights so I pictured him hugging the walls also on our walk to the room. We were lucky enough to stay at CR towers once with a gorgeous view of the castle. He hated every minute! Pop doesn't sound like it will be a problem for him.....thank goodness!

I have another question that I don't think has been asked.....are the pools open 24/7?

Thanks!
