We have our airline tickets!!! Yay! This will be our first time flying down!!! We're arriving at midnight on the day of our check-in (it was the cheapest flight) so I figure we'll just wait around the airport for a few hours and then jump on a 5:00 AM DME bus. Our flight coming back isn't until 9:45 PM so we'll have ALL DAY to enjoy the hotel and relax before coming home. I'm so excited!!!!!!

We will do laundry once this trip and it's always a pain in the neck using the vending machines for detergent - but I never figured out a way to bring my own, for fear of making a mess in the luggage. Actually, that was a suggestion from PRmamiDEdos. I am sure that she could explain it though. I have never used them. I just added them to the list based on her recommendations.

Actually, that was a suggestion from PRmamiDEdos. I am sure that she could explain it though. I have never used them. I just added them to the list based on her recommendations.

What a great idea!

I used them during our last trip in December. I'm glad I thought to bring them!! It was so cold we couldn't wear our shorts so I was washing the jeans we packed every few days along with our hoodies. You throw a sheet in when you start the water, add the clothes and step away! When the wash is done, you take the same sheet and put it in the dryer. No bottles, no mess and you don't have to worry about them spilling in your luggage. I got a 20 pack that comes in a reusable plastic case at the store for $6.

I just bought these myself, they are AWESOME. it is a sheet that has the detergant, anti cling and softner all in one. all you do is toss the sheet in washer with the clothes, and transfer it in with the clothes to the dryer. it works as all three in one. really easy to travel with, and not that expensive too. I just got a box of 22 sheets for 5 bucks.

Hi everyone

Got our extra ME tags that I asked for yesterday.

Has anyone ever checked an empty or almost empty suitcase before?

I was thinking of checking an extra carry on bag on the trip down to put any goodies in that we get.

I've known people who have sets of luggage where the smaller bags fit in the larger ones. They pack their clothes and whatnot in the smaller bag, then put the smaller bag in the bigger bag, and, voila! Extra bag for souvies and such. (Alternatively, I've known people who traveled starting with 2 bags, one filled with gifts and all, then pack the two bags together on the way home. Works both ways!)

I'm in the same boat as you all....track just ended for DD14 however competitive cheer practice just started back up which also includes flight classes and tumble classes. Not to mention DD14 just finished drivers ed and has EOC tests coming up and DD10 has EOGs coming up. This weekend we are taking DD14 to DC for her bday and then next weekend she has cheer camp all weekend. Then HS cheer tryouts start on her bday the 23rd. We end May with a quick beach trip in the RV over Memorial weekend to the beach and DD3's bday party on the 30th after we return home. Open house at the girls Allstar gym on June 4th and then FINALLY DISNEY!!!! Busy Busy Busy!

I can totally relate! It's recital week here....DD had dance practice Monday and will have it again Wednesday, then the dress rehearsal is Friday. We're supposed to be there by 3:30, fully dressed and made up, so I've got to get someone to cover my class from 2:45-3:08 (yeah...that's what time school lets out....) so I can be in town to pick her up at 3:15 and will wind up with 10 minutes to have her dressed and made up. Hair will be done in the morning -- she'll just have to wear it in a bun all day whether or not she likes it! The recital is Saturday.

I think I've about got June planned out, too... VBS is June 12-16, I've got a conference to go to June 16-17. Then the next week, DD's school is doing like a day camp thing (half day "babysitting" that includes lots of sports/outdoor activities for 4 days for only $3, and it includes a snack!) The last day of that is the day we leave; she will get out at 11:30...I'll pick her up, then go and pick eeyore344 from work, grab lunch with Dad, and on the road we'll go!

(Okay...yeah...that's not AS busy...but two years ago, DD danced with a different school. Recital week was the last full week in May, which is also the last week of school. That Thursday we had dance practice. Friday was the last day of school for teachers. I had to leave as soon as possible because my brother was getting married and I was "in charge" of decorations. Fed Ex was delivering $130 in blue and white hydrangeas, plus I had to meet my aunt. I was putting bouquets together for the wedding, plus centerpieces for the reception tables. Dress rehearsal for the recital was at 5. Graduation at my school and my DSiL's HS graduation was at 7, plus DD's preschool graduation was at 7. (Guess which one we went to?) The next morning was the wedding (had to be there early for set up and decorating and finishing bouquets etcetcetc then clean up afterwards) and recital on Sunday. What a way to start a summer!)

If you are traveling with young ones.... Bring a bungee cord (2 is best) To wrap around your stroller before you check/gate check it to make sure that it stays in place.

Airline workers arent equiped with the knowledge of how to fold up strollers, and most wont even try... so if somehow your stroller pops open they will still just throw in the cargo bin, or worse FORCE it to close by any means possible


So, bring a bungee to wrap around your stroller. Super cheap to get and can deff save you big time!!!!!!!!

You know that is the truth! I have bought various bags, shoes, and other stuff that I never would have dreamed of if it hadn't been for the Dis
