1) What things do you pack in your suitcase that are just for Disney?
Well, my luggage is Disney! LOL...
My Tink pajama bottoms, all of my Disney shirts, Body Glide. LOL.

2) Ok, be honest, how many people have started packing for Disney already?
I have my box in my closet that is gathering all of my random stuff (pop up hamper, mickey mouse bandaids, new Disney Beach Towels, Park Guides, etc.


3) What special traditions do you have to prepare for Disney? (making T-shirts, watching movies, countdown calendars, etc)
We make a countdown chain and I get my son "10 days til Disney" gifts that I wrap in Disney paper. He gets to open one a day up until the trip.
Could be fun stuff for the car trip like Disney activity books or cards, or puzzles, or a special shirt for the park.


4) Does your family tour commando style, absolutely care free, or somewhere in the middle?
October was our first trip and I planned which park on which day and knew the major rides to hit.
We are of course going in June this time, so I am planning the ride schedule a little more as far as getting in and getting fast passes and riding another main attraction while waiting for the fast pass time...


5) What is the one thing you really want to try "new" at Disney this year? (in other words, something you have never done before)
I am kind of excited about the Star Wars Weekends because my son and husband love Star Wars (I have NEVER seen the movies).
I am also looking forward to doing World Showcase... we didn't make it to that on our first trip. It was food and wine festival and the two times we went to Epcot it was CRAZY over there.



6) Describe your family to us so we know who to "look out for" in Disney? LOL
Look at my avatar pic! We will be eating Mickey Bars and racing for thrill rides, I will be tearing up at Beauty and the Beast and Wishes.

An unfair answer would be Epcot because I have not been able to see World Showcase yet... we were there during F&W and it just didn't workout.


3) Favorite attraction in each park?

4) When you go to Disney, what is the first thing you/your family usually does?
After we check out the resort, we head to Magic Kingdom

5) What is your favorite Disney QS restaurant?
hmmmm... I am going to say Flame Tree

6) What is your favorite Disney TS restaurant?
Never been to one.

7) What is your favorite Disney memory....(since the theme is Let the Memories Begin).
seeing my son's face when we got there. Amazing.

8) What is your favorite hotel?
I have only stayed at All Star Music and it was fine...

9) What is your favorite Disney movie?
Beauty and the Beast

10) What Disney character would you most like to be?
Little Mermaid

the weather is too cold to walk outside yet here but at least the sun is out today. I'm hoping Spring is right around the corner. I've mainly been hitting the gym to do the treadmill or elliptical. I'm good for about 2 miles, I'd like to work that up to at least 3 or 4 on a regular basis. As far as excercise goes, I'm a work in progress and always have been. I could use all the support I can get.

Anyhow, here are my answers to the survey:

1) What things do you pack in your suitcase that are just for Disney?
ponchos, disney shirts, glow sticks, lots and lots of suntan lotion, hats (i'm not a hat person at all but all that sun I need one there)

2) Ok, be honest, how many people have started packing for Disney already?
I've only bought us all matching red mickey t-shirts, new bathing suits, shoes, but not actually packing yet, but reading all these posts I'm panicking, maybe I should start soon.


3) What special traditions do you have to prepare for Disney? (making T-shirts, watching movies, countdown calendars, etc)
I haven't told the kids yet when we are going, they may have an idea, perhaps saw some mail one day but I don't think they know we are going. We leave the day after their school gets out so I was gonna tell them the day they get home from their last day, they always check the mailbox on their way indoors so I'll put something in there!

4) Does your family tour commando style, absolutely care free, or somewhere in the middle?
We start off commando, the kids want to go on ride after ride. Then I scream that we have to stop and watch a parade or just enjoy the disney magic!

5) What is the one thing you really want to try "new" at Disney this year? (in other words, something you have never done before)I want to do Tom Sawyer's island, all my life I've never been over there, the family never wants to give up precious time from rides to go there.



6) Describe your family to us so we know who to "look out for" in Disney? LOLWell I'm blond, short, Pooh-shaped and will be singing disney tunes from the minute the plane touches down in Orlando, my husband is a marathon runner so he's thin and will be off running for fast passes, I have boy/girl twins that will either by laughing and hugging each other or pulling each other's hair out!

That is the hardest question to answer! I would say it's a tie. MK & Epcot

2) What is your least favorite Disney park?
Studios. In 11 years and 20+ trips I've still yet to learn to appreciate it fully.

Epcot:Soarin
DHS: Star Tours (this is a childhood thing...really wondering if I'll still love it, or love it even more)

4) When you go to Disney, what is the first thing you/your family usually does?
It varies but it's always MK or Epcot. We have '1st time' traditions for each park so it doesn't matter to us which one it is!

5) What is your favorite Disney QS restaurant?
Yakitori House....on a HOT June day, the salad with ice cold ginger dressing can't be beat!

6) What is your favorite Disney TS restaurant?
Oh my goodness There are so many and for such different reasons! I guess it boils down to where do we eat every single trip, no matter what and that would be Rose & Crown.

7) What is your favorite Disney memory....(since the theme is Let the Memories Begin).
Sitting on Main Street looking toward the castle with my first child. I was in a puddle of tears since I was told I'd never have kids, and yet, years later, there we were!

8) What is your favorite hotel?
AKL hands down. We've stayed at 7 different resorts and this will always be our favorite.

9) What is your favorite Disney movie?
Bedknobs and Broomsticks

10) What Disney character would you most like to be?
Mad Madame Mim

1) What things do you pack in your suitcase that are just for Disney?
Those little water filled spray fans...they are so expensive at the park.

2) Ok, be honest, how many people have started packing for Disney already?
I havent yet...but my DD(13) Has already got a little Tinkerbell backpack ready with a change of underwear and shorts in a baggy for the water rides


3) What special traditions do you have to prepare for Disney? (making T-shirts, watching movies, countdown calendars, etc) Well, we decided after our first trip to wear matching colored shirts...cant miss a family in neon green shirts and Crocs


4) Does your family tour commando style, absolutely care free, or somewhere in the middle? Im always on the go at work(running a kitchen) so we tend to freestyle it...but we do have a few rides we absolutely want to hit first thing, so we knock those out pretty quick


5) What is the one thing you really want to try "new" at Disney this year? (in other words, something you have never done before) I want to hit the shows...my DH and DD are really big into the rides so they never want to hit the show...but Im gonna get to them this year if I have to drag them kicking and screaming!



6) Describe your family to us so we know who to "look out for" in Disney? LOL

As previously said above..we should blend right in...like 3 large Sherbet Ice cream cones

First to the person who doesn't get DHS: I felt the same way until last trip. My kids went nuts running around the different "street sets", making up scenes & posing for pics! Now onto the ?s!

• Disney only packing items include: moleskin, ponchos, & pins
• We have not yet begun to pack!
• Pre-trip events: my vacation countdown on the 'puter, daily trips to this board LOL, checking out guidebooks & pics from our last WDW vacation, & a Disney themed night before meal including decorations & menus
• We are strictly middle of the road tourers (is that a word?)
• This time we will try Test Track & maybe Mission Space
• The family: me--average-sized, brown-haired 40-something mom, DH--blond hair, outdoor type, loud voice, usually talking about fishing; DD17--dk blonde hair, glasses, Disney-freeak!; DD15--very long medium blonde hair, you see a lot of the top of her head because she's constantly texting!; DD13--long blonde hair, perfect post-braces teeth, with a voice like her father's; DS5--brown hair like me, little guy (41 inches, 35 lbs), never still!

I am wondering about hats too... I have VERY thick hair, it is hard for me to find ball caps that don't give me a headache.

1) What things do you pack in your suitcase that are just for Disney? Ponchos. I feel like thats the only thing thats not included with our other trips. Yet we have like 20 of them since we always forget to take the ponchos out of our suitcases, so then it rains, and we have to buy new ponchos.


2) Ok, be honest, how many people have started packing for Disney already? Sadly, not yet. Trust me, I want to, but living in an area with crazy weather, I might pull out those tanks in March, and I don't want to have to dig them out of a suitcase.



3) What special traditions do you have to prepare for Disney? (making T-shirts, watching movies, countdown calendars, etc)
We have a whiteboard that we countdown with, and we put quotes or things to look forward to on it. We also tend to watch POTC a lottt more right before our trip.

4) Does your family tour commando style, absolutely care free, or somewhere in the middle?
We used to be carefree, and we still are, but now that we've gotten into ADRs, we just plan a flexible schedule around them.

5) What is the one thing you really want to try "new" at Disney this year? (in other words, something you have never done before)
Well, sunrise safari is something I'm really looking forward to. but I want to go on the Jungle Cruise (sad, but I've been to WDW 8 times and have never been on the cruise).


6) Describe your family to us so we know who to "look out for" in Disney? LOL
aha, we're the mother daughter duo who look a lottt alike and will probably be making fun of each other. We don't do matching t-shirts, so I can't join the "look like a popsicle" club.

We're now at 97 days! Come on March, April and May, go by quickly!

As for hats, I have thick hair too, but I just put my hair in buns or straighten it and do a high ponytail. I don't do hats either, but ultimately there isn't much we can do about the sun when we aren't hat people.

I leave them in my backpack each day - they don't take up much room if they're folded properly and when sitting for a parade I can spread one out on the side walk and we all can use it, or, I can fold two and mom can have a cushy spot LOL. But I just put them in a large zippy bag and suck the air out and it really doesn't take up too much room, AND we always have them.

I just spent the last two hours outside doing some yard work...yes you heard me correct. It is 65 and although it's not that sunny, it was so nice to watch the kids play outside and ride bikes with friends while I cleaned the yard. Even my bulbs are starting to poke through the ground. Yay! It's my official sign spring is coming. I can't believe spring will officially be here in a little over a week. One more season down, and one more to go. Vacation is closer and closer.

I'm right with ya on that one! Hats look ridiculous on me but in the sun I gotta wear one. I'm fair skinned so I burn easy. I like the visors better but then I burn my scalp. If I wear a baseball cap, I feel like my ears pop out. Gonna have to shop around.

I'm lucky, I don't burn, but I do have the ears that pop out LOL. I just like to wear a hat as it really seems to keep me cooler. Many millions of years ago when I did have long hair I could wear a baseball cap and I didn't look horrible..but I remember thinking how much cooler my head felt all day.
