Tam1067 I have never had a bad view either...but I have read that the back side of Sago can be iffy....:confused3

My favorite GV is Boca Chica also...:)

I'm seeking information about "bad" rooms to avoid. We're staying GV, and I'd like to know room numbers that we should avoid. These could be unusually loud or with really terrible views. This way, if I'm at check-in and get sent to one of these, I can try to correct the problem before we trek over there.

Thanks in advance!

I always avoid the ground floor :)

How well lit are the outdoor areas?

The outdoor areas are VERY well lit :thumbsup2

Only 4 more days for me :banana::banana:

I've had my hair done there many times and have never seen anyone having make-up applied nor any supplies.

Nothing like that is on the price list either:

Have fun at the GF! :cool1:
Can they put long hair into a nice hair style without cutting too much. I have very long hair and having a professionally done hair style would be nice before Victoria and Albert's but I don't want it cutting too much (maybe a couple of inches but no more than that.

I'm sure they could do whatever you wanted...an updo without cutting at all or a trim if you wanted. They do wedding parties all the time.

Our DD had an updo at Ivy Trellis right before our last dinner at V&A. It's fun to do that, I think. :goodvibes

MelissaFromRI, you're getting so close! Have fun! :wizard:

Very nice signature, Cinderumbrella...Go Hawks! :cool1:

THank you for this link - you just gave me a great idea for our upcoming trip! I see they offer children's services and this might be something my daughter's want to do as they are getting a bit old for BBB and have already done it at DTD and MK (and nothing could top the MK experience and our interaction with the real FG).

We had room 8120 that was exceptionally loud due to being pinned between the sliding doors and the elevator. I would assume any room that ended in 120 would be in the same situation in any of the out buildings.

Thanks for the heads up!

I had a room in Sago Cay once, back side facing the monorail. It was near the end of the hall, and was a nice view. Still much better than directly facing a parking lot! That's the thing I like about the GF, there really aren't any bad views. I think the worst of views would be those with trees right in front of the balcony blocking any kind of view.

I appreciate this information. I'm feeling better now--I guess I'll just wait and see what happens, right?

Tam If at check in you get a room that you dont like I would just ask for a different one..Or if you do like to pre plan take a look at the resort map and maybe request a building that you think you would prefer to be in on your reservation...:)

Its been pretty quiet around here...is everybody on vacation!!! At the GF I hope....:)

Hi everyone...
I'm over the moon to be able to say that I've swayed my group of 4 to stay at the Grand this August! :cloud9:It's been a dream of mine for years to stay here. We are going to go for a garden view, and I was wondering, when I make my reservation, I plan to make some requests. What should I say to make sure I get the best garden view possible (assuming that they honor my request)? Thanks in advance!

The marina view (Sago Cay and Conch Key) is nice, as is the pool view (Boca Chica and Big Pine Key). Also, if you have a preference for first floor/top floor, you can request that too. All the rooms really are great, though!

MelissaFromRI - have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

Scott MC - It just depends what you are looking for in a garden view. If you want to be near the main building and themed pool, Big Pine Key is a good choice. Near the bus stop and Gasparilla's, Sago Cay. I like Conch Key for its proximity to the quiet pool, boat dock and the ability to walk out the back door to the marina and Gasparilla's. Many GF fans love Boca Chica for its view of the courtyard pool and main building, along with access to the boat dock. There are very few rooms with a bad view, so choose the location that you prefer, I'm sure you will love your room! And if not, you can always ask to move to a better location.

Good luck, and have a great trip! :sunny:
