I would LOVE to see a specific menu as well! Seriously, it's kind of the deal breaker for DH. If he likes the food at GF better than the Poly, he's going to pick the GF! LOL....

ok, that recipe alone could quite possibly now be the deciding factor!
YUMMMM!!!!
GF here we come!!!

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the great info everyone has been posting here. The excitement is getting to be unbearable as our trip slowly approaches. Only 5 more weeks to go! Our ME tags should be arriving this week. Thanks again! :goodvibes

Is anyone there now and can confirm that SW airlines is now participating in the RAC program?
TIA

Does anyone have a current menu of the night time food offerings for CL?
Thanks! :)

We stayed in RPC in January and here's an idea of what we had:

Breakfast was pretty standard though the pastries changed (watch for the sticky buns -yummo!) Basically there were 4 cereal choices, 3 yogurts, watermelon, pineapple, cantelope and honeydew melon; lots of toast choices; mini-bagels, pastries, etc. and always some lunch meats and cheeses for the international guests or those who avoid carbs. Drinks at breakfast included apple juice, orange juice, milk and packets for hot chocolate plus the wonderful coffee machine that makes caps, lattes, etc. and a variety of teas.

At lunch you can expect snack-type foods like chips, cheese and crackers, hummus and artichoke dips with assorted crackers, etc. Sodas are available as well as lemonade. There are always large bottles of Evian and Perrier to pour in take-away paper cups.

Afternoon tea included a variety of little pastries, warm scones with devonshire cream and strawberry jam (THE BEST!) and plates of delicious cookies.

The evening offerings seem to be somewhat theme-based. We had an Asian-inspired night that included potstickers, satay, small plates with Asian salad, etc. We also had a Mediterranean night with Greek phyllo treats, skewered meat (lamb?), salads, etc. One night I remember little Chicken Wellingtons that were delicious. In addition to at least 2 hot items each night, there was always a big cheese tray, olives, crackers, flatbreads and hummus dips, spreads and a large veggie tray with dip. There are also soft drinks, beer, two white wines, two red wines and champagne. On the kids' buffet, I noticed tortilla pinwheels with turkey or ham and cheese and pbj Crustables plus all the sweet treats!

The later evening offerings include little desserts, chocolate covered strawberries, mini cupcakes plus a variety of liquers and cordials.

There was no menu posted as to what was being offered when. It was always a surprise! We were told by RPC CMs that they are offering new things in the lounge this year provided from the various chefs at the GF restaurants.

Please tell me more. Thank you!

Hot Tubs: Where are the hot tubs -- at both pools, or only in the spa and health club? Do the pools have a hot water area in the pool or is the hot tub separate?

Spa and Health Club: What's here beside fitness equipment? Is there a sauna or anything else like that that's no additional charge? What spa treatments did you enjoy (for both men and women)?

The whirpool area also has a steam room and sauna:

I was at the GF Spa in January and had the Aurum Manus massage and it was fabulous! The therapist used hot stones and cool crystals along with some aromatherapy oils. I have had many massages but this one tops the list! Ask for Piper.

minniesota, I forgot to answer your question about D&B bags. In our earlier trips this winter, the GF was the only resort that had the bags. This time I also saw them at the YC. Not as great a selection though. I didn't visit every resort shop by any means but do know that the Polynesian, AKL, SSR and BC did not have them. I suppose they fit the more "formal" theme of GF and YC best??

Thanks!:hippie:

There is a report that RAC is starting today at Y&BC/BCV so that schedule appears to be incorrect.:confused3 What site is it? Oh, and no SSR on that list. I'm sure it won't be left out.

Glad you had such a great first vacation at the GF. :wizard: Can't wait to hear all about it.

It's been 36 whole hours since I was at GF. Someone take me backkkkkk.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ease the pain by sharing more about your GF stay. :goodvibes What was your favorite thing about the GF? Did you dine in any of the restaurants?

Did you use RAC and if so, was SW on the list? We were at the Polynesian in late February but I didn't even look at the info in the room as we moved to THV after that and knew that we would use RAC for United at the end of our stay. RAC is such a wonderful service that it really affects my decision on which airline to book.

I emailed IPO since are going back in June to ask about it and was told its has been delayed and is not running at GF yet.

We didn't use RAC... it was closed by the time we tried to use it. They close at 1pm on Sunday, and we didn't get back from the parks until after 3pm.

My favorite thing about GF was the orchestra :-) That was so much fun. We ate at Gasparilla's (not so good), the Cafe (excellent) and Citrico's (beyond excellent). The filet I had at Citrico's was the best meal the entire trip.

OK...forgive my ignorance, but what is "RAC" I'm sitting here racking my brain and can't come up with anything that makes sense.:)
