That makes 10 people who've pledged to lose at least a stone in 6 weeks. To say I'm jealous would be an understatement!!! How do you shift the weight that quickly?????

I will curb the drinking. I have 2 stone in total to come in on my ideal weight (14st, I am officially 15st 13lbs today) but i cant see that at all. Stone and a half total me thinks before WdW 2006.

Even being 6 stone overweight as I was last year (still 3 - 4 stone overweight) didn't shift it for me - it's like getting blood out of a stone for me to lose weight however much I exercise and eat healthily - not fair!!!!!!

Di, I know I've said this before, and people on here must think I'm some kind of thyroid disease preacher (;)), but I really think you might have an underactive thyroid! I'm not exaggerating when I say that as soon as I started on thyroxine, I dropped half a stone without even doing anything, and I can lose weight a lot more easily now. I seem to remember you saying that you got this checked out once before? If your GP won't diagnose you, it really is worth going to see a specialist private doctor. Within two years of first suspecting a thyroid problem, I am almost back to normal. :)

My mum (who is also hypothyroid) has a list of good thyroid doctors across the UK, so I could even recommend one if you wanted!

Feel free to thump me if I'm being out of order or anything - I just like to try and help my fellow DISers! :grouphug:

Can I join? I am usually found on the DLRP board but came to have a look at this months quiz and found this thread.
If its ok I pledge 8 pounds. I am lousy at dieting but perhaps this will help

Emma how thoughtful and kind :grouphug:

OK here goes... 8 lbs in 6 weeks. I need to lose 2 and a half stone altogether and as much of that as possible by Summer. I am not going to console myself with 'compared to half of America I'm thin' again this year.

I've just got back from WDW so can I join in too please. I put on 6lb over the 2 weeks I was at WDW so I would like to loose 10lb which I guess by now will be over the next 5 weeks.

I realised the other day I will be 30 this year and having spent most of my 20's a little (OK somethimes a lot!) on the heavy side I would like to start my 30's being thin. I have lost around 3 stone so far on weight watchers so have around 2 stone to loose in 7 months before by birthday. Hopefully I should be able to do this.

Cheryl, that is usually what I do too. This year, I am going to be able to wear shorts and not look like a blob of lard doing it ::yes::

....me too, that and the fact we have bought a camcorder for our next trip and I don't want to watch grimacing when I see my backside on the screen. I shall be dusting my pilates machine today and taking the clothes of the stepper (I had to use it for something ;) ).

Talking of camcorders, DH shot some footage last year with a camcorder we borrowed from work. He got a great shot of my behind when I was walking with FIL to get ice-cream. Maybe I should get that video out and watch it whenever I feel the urge to cheat :rotfl:

I have been using the girls' dance mat but am finding it quite frustrating (probably because I'm no good at it :rotfl2: ). Anyone got other tips for good exercise I can do at home?

Joh,

I know its not directly indoors at home but Speedwalking is very good for you. It is not like those Olympic ones that waggle the bums violently, just normal walking but a bit faster.

I'm going to aim for half a stone. Would like to lose about a stone and a half in total. :flower:

Everybody doing ok so far?

Hope you are all having a final push in readiness for tomorrows weigh in!

Me & Gavin both hit somesort of 'wall' on Thursday, we were both quite light headed and VERY hungry almost all day. We have been eating very well and as we both passed it by Friday it must have been pyschological :confused3

Havent done any exercise yet, saving it for a few weeks once we have come to terms with the whole 'diet' thing, they do say not to try too much at once!

Good luck for tomorrow :shamrock:

I will post the first week weigh -in thread tonight for tomorrow, as i wont have time to post it in the morning before work.
hope everyones doing fine!! :hyper:
wow  457lb pledged for the 1st 6 weeks that is amazing!!!

Wow, that's great. 547 lb in 6 weeks. That's (does mental arithmetic) 39 stone 1 lb :faint:

Would be great if we manage it. How has everyone found it this week? I only started on Wednesday and have managed to refrain from weighing myself every day (as is usual when I'm dieting) so I will be looking forward to seeing how I've done. Hope everyone else has managed some good losses this week :goodvibes

I didn't start until Thursday so I am not expecting much this week, I had to finish off all the stuff we had from Christmas, but now my fridge is stocked up with low fat yoghurts and chicken. ::yes::

Joh, Cazzie you can weigh your self on any day next week, it doesnt just have to be on Monday :flower: some people will have different weigh days as they will belong to slimming clubs etc. Joh, you could weigh in on wed if you want and cazzie on thurs!
