Well, Izzy didn't do very much damage here where I live, but it put alexandria under water, caused all kinds of power outages, we apparently are being asked to conserve water and boil any water we might want to drink or cook with... at least I have power!!! My parents and grandparents have water but no power. I'm just glad it's over! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get water back and kate can go to school on monday! maggie

Glad to hear you are ok and your family is fine. We didn't get all the rain they thought we would or the high winds. The yard doesn't look to bad. Lots of sticks and branches are down. Our power is finally back on it was out from 8:15 PM till about 3PM I think!

We lost power & cable yesterday about 3 p.m. No one has a clue when we might see power again. However, our neighborhood is what I call "Generator City." That is how I am online tonight . About 200,000 customers are without power in our county. It takes awhile to learn to sleep with all this noise, but at least we have some power.

Earlier today we were told we will probably lose public water because there is no electricity to pump water. So, my bathtub, kitchen sinks & lots of containers are filled with water.

I had no idea what storm surge was until I saw the end of our community which is on a major river. No way would I want water front property.

We had quilte a bit of wind all night, but not nearly the rain that was predicted.

My thoughts & prayers to all those in NC & VA ...
