D'yall remember my furniture saga??

We bought new dining room furniture, but when it arrived it wasn't exactly as we remembered and had scratches in the glass and china deck. Then they gave us a new table but when they installed the leaf into the table, they messed up and didn't align it correctly so now there are extra holes.

By this time, we basically told the company we don't want it anymore, take it back. They said no. So we went through our credit card company who has given us a temporary refund.

Well, we're still in our waiting period -- the furniture place has until 9/14 to respond to the credit card company. If they don't, then cc said they would make the refund permanent.

yes, we have been waiting since April 1st (day that we donated our old furniture to Salvation Army) to have a dining room. We still have the new furniture but can't use it in case they want it back.

anyway, that's my update!

I wonder why there have been so many teachers in such a short amount of time?

They all got pregnant!! Yes, for real.

It's an in-home pre-school so they need to commit to the entire year and obviously cannot since the school is longer than 9 months.

Party! Party! I'm here too (although I'm leaving to go to the post office in a few minutes and then catching a plane for Vegas this evening. Going out to help Dad & Sis organize, sort, etc. my mom's things. Hard for Dad to have them around. I want to let him do things his way, but for me personally, I would want to have things around for a little while longer.)

What kind of furniture was it you purchased? I would hate to have to store something that large for this long, waiting for resolution. Have you called the credit card company to see if the furniture store every responded? It's ridiculous that you have to wait this long.

I agree! DH says we should start charging the furniture company warehousing fees!

The last time I called Master Card they said I had to wait 45 days and MC would contact me as soon as the Furniture company responded.

oh and get this! Master Card (don't use them for large purchases!!) said that before they would issue a refund, I had to get a 2nd opinion in writing from a competitor!

Like anyone from another store is going to come to my house out of their own free will and look at the furniture!!

I finally got M/C to agree to accept my claim based on photos...

It's been sooo frustrating!

I would think if all of this started back in April and the furniture store has not responded yet, you'll probably be alright. I wonder how difficult it will be to get them to come out and pick it up? It sounds like they've forgotten all about you!!

I'm usually here during the day, as well. It's lunchtime, and I actually brought my lunch today so I can catch up with you guys!
