Anyone else ready for this to be lifted? I usually always borrow because my current use year is always 0 (used all of that first year up real quick when we bought and borrow all of the next haha)

I got 5 days at Copper Creek for November 2021, but I really wanted to make it a long trip at 8 days. Can't cause the stupid new rule. I'm just griping, but I wanted to see if anyone else had the same issues.

Due to so many canceled trips, and the return of borrowed points, I am not overloaded with them for the next few years..lots more 1 bedroom trips in my future,

I do think they should stop returning borrowed points and find a way to let people book trips within 60 days with more than the 50% rule but once done, that trip can not be modified to use those points later on. However, I think that would require a big system change and Disney IT isn’t that savvy.

If I used common sense in 2021, if Disney won’t sell new AP’s and I’m restricted to borrowing 50% points... it might be a good year to only go to Universal. (And stay at one of their hotels to get express pass)

I'm guessing that depends up how many points you have that you may lose if you don't go to Disney. I'm not inclined to lose my 345 banked June 2020 points just to tell Disney I don't like their 50% borrowing restriction, or lack of AP. I have an 11 person trip planned for Thanksgiving 2021, with part of the group in a GV, and the other part in a 2 bedroom.

I am trying to live with the restriction, but I am concerned about 2022, when in reality, I won’t have any more than my total number because I have borrowed from 2022. This is hard for me in the resorts that I have fewest points.

That is so cool and a great way to use your point. You all will have a great time. A GV especially!

LOVE Sandisw's idea. With so many trips being cancelled and points eing banked you would think they would be doing everything they could to get points used NOW. Can you imagine being a GCV owner? It's going to be a full year before points are used there.

I wouldn’t lose any since I’ve been in a mostly borrowing mode for years. I have a few 2021 points I can bank, but most of my 2021 trip would have been made using borrowed 2022 points.

VGC owner here. I am definitely not a happy camper right now. I consider my VGC points to be 100% exclusive use points (EUPs) - and I know that I am not the only VGC owner who feels that way. They did extend my 10 previously banked December 2018 points to use on my March WDW trip. I am happy they were extended, but not thrilled they are not being used at VGC. Depending on if and when VGC opens, I may have to use more of my VGC points at resorts that are not the typical plan. Reminds me, I need to call DVC about my July reservation to reallocate banked VGC points to that VGC reservation (have 2 VGC contracts and has some current UY points on the reservation right now and need to pull from my other VGC contract - points had been on VGC reservation that got cancelled and late banked so were not available when I made the reservation).

DANG! I didn't even think about VGC! You guys are definitely getting hit the worst out of all of us.

VGC owner here as well, and the restriction hurts us. I have no faith things will open by this summer (unless they get rid of that governor) and with my kids schedules, our only other time of year that works is Christmas. The point premium that time of year is insane - and we'll need to borrow to make it work in 2021. It's all such a waste.

VGC owner here too.
Have 2 booked so far, not sure the 1st will happen, so might have to upgrade when they do open

I'm short 25 points for a mid January trip with the 50% rule. My new year starts in February use year, so for two weeks they won't help me??? I get credit 350 points Feb 1st. Pissed.

If you have a February use year, and want to book a January trip, you can borrow up to 175 points under the 50% rule. Unless you've already borrowed that many, or there are other factors not evident in your post.

I must have borrowed because they are telling me I can only borrow 135 (I need 160 for trip ). In 19 I must have borrowed from 20 so I only have 270 banked.

I'm just frustrated because for weeks Disney is being inflexible. I would understand if they told me ok we will let you borrow the 25 but no cancelling, banking etc. you don't use them for THIS ressie you lose them
