I was wondering if it might be a good idea to post stuff here that is relevant to only the 3 night cruises. As a first time cruiser I find a lot of questions and answers are getting me a little confused because a lot of stuff doesn't apply to the 3 night Bahamas cruise.

If I maybe get a couple of responses from others to say this would be OK, I'll go ahead and post some questions here, and hope others who are going on a 3 night cruise will do to........

What do you think?

Go ahead and ask. I have a workmate who just booked a 3 day cruise and I don't know much about it either since I've only done the 4 and 7 day.Your questions might help him too!

The first question I have, I guess to clear up any previous confusion is:

What don't they have on the 3 night cruise? For example certain entertainment or theme nights.

I know its a vague. big open question, but anything you can throw in would be useful....

I have only been on the 3 day and it was this past July. We saw all 3 shows, disney dreams, the golden mickeys and hurcules. We did have pirate night with fireworks. We ate in all 3 restauarants. This is all I can think of right now. But I am sure others can think of more.......

I'll post a few things that I can think of now, and ask any questions you may have. I have been on the 3 day cruise 3 times.

As for dinner, you eat in each restaurant once. You will have their "regular" menu. There is a pirate night, but not a pirate menu in the restaurants. You can still dress up and there is the pirate party. (Bahamas night) The kids love it, well...I loved it too! :)

As for the other nights, there is no semi-formal or formal night. You can still eat at Palo's but you would have to "double dip" or not go to one of the restaurants. (I always recommend eating at Palo's, yum!)

There are shows all three nights, most likely disney dreams, golden mickeys and hercules (all great shows, btw!).

Ask any other questions you may have, HTH!

I have been on 2 of the three nights (as well as two four nights and two seven night cruises).

The three night offers the best of the best. You get all three Disney themed shows (so the only one you miss is the variety comedy show that is usually the second night on the four night cruise). You get to eat in all three restaurants (no double visit, like on the four night). You get to visit Castaway Cay, but you will not have a day at sea afterwards (like on the four night).

There really isn't a lot of differences between the 3 and 4 nights except for the amount of time you have on the ship.

The thing we found strange on the 3 night is how on the second night you have the 'tip' envelopes laid out at dinner. It seems like you just got on board and before you can blink you are getting ready to leave. They have to put them out that night because the next night is your last night in the dining rooms, but it just seems SO quick!

Anyway, you won't miss anything on the 3 night when it comes to the highlights of the cruise activities. You just won't have much time to rest and relax and just enjoy the ship. BUT the 3 night is a great way to try out the cruise.

We are going on the 3 night cruise this October and it will be our first Disney cruise. Most of the questions posted do not pertain to the 3 night cruises and I think it would be a GREAT idea to have something like this. I know that our cruise is going to be amazing and we do plan on going back again but since this is our first time we have decided not to miss out on any of the restaurants so we don't plan on doing Palo (this time at least)! Our feeling is there always next time for Palo.

We can't wait!!! My DH and I don't like being in WDW on Saturday and Sundays so we are flying into WDW on Sunday and staying till Wed. and then doing the cruise from Thursday to Sunday. I LOVE the departure dates!

Tell me about the shopping on board. Is there anything that is an absolute must?! Please advise! THANKS EVERYONE!!!

The days are the one thing I like about the 3 night. Spending time at WDW during the week and then topping it off with a Disney Cruise at the end.

As for shopping on board, I am not a 'shopper' so that doesn't interest me much. There are two shops, one is more adult oriented with clothing and jewelry and things like that. The other has all the T-shirts, postcards, stuffed animals and things like that. My kids always go in to buy something from each trip and my 1 thing that I have to buy is a dated photo album (with the year on it). We have cruised every year for the past 6 years and I like having the year on the front of the album to keep them straight.

In Nassau there is a lot of shopping areas right off the ship (you can just walk on and off the ship when you want to go ashore).

You will enjoy the cruise and probably be ready to book another by the time you leave. Have fun!

BTW, if you get the Travel Channel, you may want to try to watch their special on the Disney Cruise next week. This special has aired several times (and some of it is out of date--for exampe, there is no longer an ESPN Lounge), but over all it is a good presentation of the cruise:

I am not much of a shopper either, but did buy DCL t shirts, photo album and pins. You can't get them anywhere else.

Cool thread!!
So, there is a pirate night where you dress up?? Cool...we have a pirate costume and Tinkerbell...will those work?

Also...I know there isn't a 'formal' dinner, but do you think it'd be ok for the kids to dress in their princess dresses 1 night? They really want to, and I'd love the pictures!!

Are the shows pretty packed each night? Is it ONE show, or different times for the shows?

Anyone know if there are alot of single parents who take their kids? I'm just curious because I know my kids will be having fun in their clubs and I'll be alone sommetimes...gotta find people to talk to and share my excitement with :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I'm a single mom and was wondering how many other single parents are on the cruises also. DD is 7, we are going on the 3/2/2006 during her school winter break. We are getting excited and there are so many great ideas and info here!

Yeah you can dress up for pirate night. And I dont see why the girls couldnt wear their princess outfits to dinner. There are 2 shows each night the one for the early seating people and the one for the late seating people.... We had late seating at 8:15 so we went to the shows at 6:00. (you dont have to go to the particular show but if your dinner is during the one show and you want dinner in the dining room, then you can opt for the other one) I think the shows are about an hour. They were busy but you can always get a seat. As for the single parents, I dont know. But if I was there and someone started talking to me, I would enjoy the company regardless if I was asingle parent or not. I just like talking to different people. Just strike up conversation. Everyone was very friendly on our cruise!!! You might want to even go on the cruise meet board and see who is going on your cruise. We met a few people on these boards and then met up on the ship.

I went to the Travel Channel and could not find anything on Disney. How do I find out about upcoming Disney segments?! Please let me know! Thanks! :umbrella:

bump.. going on 3day 10-27 to 10-30-2005.. :bounce: :cool1:

How do you dress for dinner on the 3 night cruise. Is collared shirts for men and pants ok?

since we are talking about the 3 day, I would really like to know about nassau. I am coming up to the date where I can book my excursions and not sure what to do.

looking for lots of opinions on that!

I am also feeling like there is no way to 'do it all' in the short 2.5 days you are on board. Any tips on 'do not miss', or 'you can skip this one'?
