My husband, two daughters and I just returned yesterday from an 8-night stay at the Beach Club. It was truly a specatular trip, and our stay at the Beach Club could not have been more perfect.

The resort is beautiful and is perfectly located. Teena and the rest of the BC staff made our stay incredibly special. For those of you heading to the BC, you are certainly in for a wonderful experience!

Is the Beach Club still have movies on the beach in October. If so what time? Sorry if this has been answered before, the topic just came up on another thread....
Any information would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Just returned Sunday. The movies are being shown at 8. I do know that the Saturday night movie is Tinkerbell. Others being shown are Freaky Friday, Wall-E, Snow White, Mystery movie, Hannah Montana, and something else. Don't know which night is which except for Saturdays. HTH!

Thank you for the quick reply! Isn't Beach Club fabulous?

It was our first stay at the BC and we really liked it. The pool is awesome! Still think the Poly is my 1st love but come anytime during swimming weather (we usually go in January) and we'll be at the BC!

I'm sure the Poly is awesome, but you sure can't beat Storm Along Bay! I'm glad you had fun!

quick post (longer with pics probably tomorrow)Just returned from a fantastic stay at BC CL. For the first time my family (whose goal is to stay at every resort once), may stay someplace more than once. The pool, the conveince to EPCOT and DHS, the freindly staff - We loved the BC!!!!

Our only request was connecting rooms. There was some confusion as one of us was connected to a wrong party - but that was quickly resolved. We booked standard view and that is what we got. No complaints though as we could see Spaceship Earth from our room as well as Illuminations and Wishes!!
One room had a full balcony and the other a small balcony that had room for just 2 chairs and a table (this was my parents room and they didn't mind at all). Our rooms were right above the front entrance . I worried that I would be bothered by noise but we never had a problem with noise from the outside.

Thanks to everyone here who helped before our trip to make this such a memorable and fantastic trip.

Oh, got to meet Art but didn't see Teena.

Can anyone tell me what floor the CL rooms, both GV and LV, in the Yacht Club are on?

I know the lounge is on the 5th but dont know about rooms locations

Returned from our 9 night stay at the BC on Sunday but things have been crazy since we returned so sorry it's taken so long to post a report.

This was our first stay at the BC and we really liked it. The proximity to Epcot and HS was fantastic. Our room was comfortable and the housekeeping did a great job. The staff I encountered were all super friendly. One guy at the BC Marketplace in particular was really nice. I missed his name but he was an older gentleman and I remember his name tag said he was from MN. Super friendly and made me laugh a lot! I saw Art but didn't get a chance to talk with him and unfortunately I missed Teena. I stopped in the lobby around noon on Monday, the 5th but there was another guy working as the greeter (not Art). I wonder if Teena may have been on a lunch break??? Very sorry I missed her.

We swam in SAB 2 days and loved every minute of it. We did the quiet pool by the Villas one night and the other quiet pool several nights. The temps were so high last week that it was nice to take a quick dip before bed to refresh. We did stop at Walmart and bought some noodles for $2 to use in the lazy river. I am glad we did. They seemed to be much more comfortable than the rental tubes looked.

We never used the bus system since we rented a car. Walked to Epcot and took the boat to HS. One word of warning about the boat. We stayed for the last show of Fantasmic at 9:30. After the show we walked to the entrance. I stopped in one store to buy something really quick that I had seen earlier in the day and then we headed for the boat dock. Sign said that the boat service ended at 10:30. It was not yet 10:30 but the lights were off and it was closed. I panicked because I really did not want to walk back to the BC with 3 very tired kids! We went back to the bus stops and the guy there kind of grumbled about how the boat guys do their own thing and don't really abide by the rules. As we talked to him we saw a few more people go down to the dock looking for the boat. Then the boat returned to dock for the night so we ran down hoping they would transport all the people that collected. They agreed to take us all to Boardwalk but they weren't happy about it! Didn't seem very Disney like! :confused3 I would be more understanding if they had kept the service running until the posted time but they closed down early!

Only other trip negative was at MK at the end of the Halloween parade. A grown man pushed into my DS's stroller which knocked him out onto his face!! The man looked down at him and just kept on going, no sorry or concern at all! I picked up my crying, scraped up son and boy was I mad! Luckily he was okay and recovered quickly.

Only negative I can say about BC is the lack of counter service meals. I really missed having a Captain Cooks type restaurant like the Poly has, especially being on the dining plan.

Highlight of the trip for the kids (DS 9, DD 7, & DS 4) was the Albatross Pirate Cruise. They LOVED it and they all said it was their favorite part of the whole trip. Well worth the $$!

Curious question for Teena: Is room 1602 a 2-Queen w/ Daybed room? The beds seemed smaller than Queens and the couch thing didn't really seem like a daybed, at least like the Poly and CR has. We were fine in the 2 beds, a little crowded but we were all so tired each night it didn't matter! LOL! Didn't bother us enough to spend time to ask and possibly move. Just thought for sure we'd have a 2-Q w/ DB since we had 2 adults and 3 children. My only room request was upper floor w/balcony and we got a main floor but it ended up being a good location and not a problem.

Wish I could go back soon! I highly recommend the BC!

Despite the negatives you mentioned sounds like you still had a pretty great trip!

That was pretty rotten that your son got bumped right out of his stroller and the man responsible never even stopped to make sure he was ok. Boy you sure do see all kinds ;) I'm glad your son was ok though.

Thanks for posting about your trip!

I'll jump on, would also be curious to see up-to-date pictures. Trip is not coming fast enough!!!!!!!!!!

has anyone had a cake delievered to their room? I'm looking for a cake that you can do an edible chrismtas image on it. Do you think YC can do that and deliever it to the room?

THANKS!

I have not had a cake ordered but have heard the best things about the cakes ordered from the Yachtsman....
I say give them a call!

I'm considering a stay here in the summer of 2011. Our next trip is a grand gathering at the AKL and the Poly. My DH has no interest in doing Disney more than once every few years. But based on how much my kids wanted to go to the pool when we at AKL earlier this month, I think they'd love SAB.

I'd just be taking my daughters and was thinking we'd spend more time at the resorts than the parks (even at ages 5 and 6, they were more interested in the pool than MK). I'd think that between SAB and the Boardwalk nearby, there would be enough to keep them occupied if we don't hit the parks (or go just a few times - I'll probably get APs for the three of us next year to cover a second trip).

I guess I'm rambling, and I obviously have plenty of time to plan, but I'm not sure which resort would be better. I'm partial to the YC, but wonder if the BC would better themed for younger kids (8 and 6, by the time we'd be going).

Hey Everyone, we're so excited to be staying at the Yacht Club in late March.

We have a standard room booked, I'm going to request a king bed, any particular view I should request? I've heard there are some asphalt roof views... would kinda like to avoid that, lol.

I've never been in March before, will we be able to use Storm Along Bay? We are only going for a few days and one of those days would be for our Wedding Planning Session, but it would be a shame to finally stay there and not get to use the pool.

Thanks!

Just come back from the Yacht club, had a great time. We booked a standard room but was given a wonderful room overlooking the marina from the front porthole balcony and from the side we had two windows overlooking stormalong bay!!
The record breaking temps were a bit high for us being from UK but still managed the parks but in small chunks.

Unless the temps are abnormally cool I think you will get in some great pool time. We were down last March towards the middle of the month and the weather was beautiful!

You will for sure be able to use the pool in march. My family came to visit me at WDW this past march and we did a split stay at CSR and OKW and we used the pools on multiple days. It might get chilly at night but expect temps in the high 70s and low 80s and bring sunblock!! I ended up in a walk in care center when my parents flew home and ended up with burns on my chest and nose from the fun in the sun!!!

I would requet a room overlooking the wedding gazebo. My in-laws had a standard view there and it was lovely. BTW we've used the pool in January and February so you may get lucky!
