The 100 Year of Magic Pin Set?!!!

Hey

Could someone tell me a little bit about the '100 years of magic' press event pin set (16 pins in a black box).

PinPics doesn't say too much other than it was given as a gift (presumably at the press launch). It said it wasn't a limited edition but does that mean there are millions of these boxes out there or are they relatively rare?

I'm asking all this because mine just came through in the mail and I'm VERY excited

Lets see..... it wasn't limited per se, as there is no edition size. They gave one to each member of the media at the event in 1999. That doesn't mean they had left overs back stage. As pin trading was huge back then, most of these sets were broken up and the pins traded separately. I can rememeber seeing tons of the Asia pin being traded.

That said, I haven't seen many boxes with all 11 pins still in the box. I presume most boxes were thrown away when the sets were broken up.

I have one and like you said, SWEET!

yeah I'm VERY pleased with it...

I like to collect commemorative stuff, so this kind of thing is perfect for me!

I'm not sure if these are the same pins you're talking about or not

but it looks like there are at least a couple people that have them for sale.

along with the boxed sets (for the press)there where a lot of loose pins as well as each new attraction or land and even show had extra pins. You could get the pins at the attraction site and the press pin you had to find on CM lanyards. Either way you worked to complete the set it is a very nice set.
