That time of year again... Please share your best organizing tips?

I am going to get this house organized if it kills me lol.

What are your best tips for getting organized?

Well, I'd like to start, but DD is sleeping on the couch and hindering the organization process. I start by individually wrapping all my ornaments in paper and putting them in plastic bins for storage. I then gather all the rest of my decorations and put them away. Then, because it's Dec. 30, I clean out all our closets and drawers and give the non-fitting, not worn clothing to Goodwill (get my tax deduction for '02), and if I'm really ambitious, I'll even clean out my junk drawer...

Vietnam Vets will pick up clothing approximately once a month. Whenever I get their notice, I start looking around and seeing what I can bag up.

Unused Holiday cards and put in a big bag and put away at the top of the closet until next year.

When something comes in, something goes out...to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, a friend, the trash...whatever. Too many things equals chaos for me.
