That Smell... It Reminds me of...?

Hey there Pod-Crew and My fellow DISers:

So after getting a lot of great feedback on my "What's That I Smell" Post, it got me thinking:

1. What is your favorite scent from The World?

And...

2. What smell in your "Real World" reminds you of Disney?


Mine are

1. The smell of Main Street USA the smell of sweet cookies and flowers.

And

2. Pineapple, reminds me of a Dole-whip. Having that fantastic treat while watching the "Celebrate Today" Parade in MK, standing right next to the "Partners" Statue in front of Cinderella's Castle. One of my favorite moments from my first "Official Trip" to the World.

So whats Yours?

I love the smell of the Christmas store in DTD.

1) The smell of the Great Ceremonial House at the Poly. If I could bottle it up and bring it home I would be in heaven. Though it is not everyone's cup of tea, that smell tells me I'm on VACATION!

2) Von Maur's (Department store) smells like BouTiki (to me).

I have so many....

The sweet smells on Main Street in the MK
The smell in the Christmas Shop in DTD
The smell when you walk into the Poly Resort
The smell of Popcorn (even though I'm not fond of popcorn, I love the smell) just before the parades start

and this is an odd one, but just being able to "smell" while in Disney....my allergies seem to go away while I'm in Florida, or at least are not so bothersome and I can breathe easier and be able to smell everything

I don't know if I have a favorite smell but...

Whenever I smell lavender it reminds me of my first visit to Disneyland back when I was little in 1957. My mom bought us all these rattan things filled with lavender to put in our dresser drawers. She bought them on Main Street in a shop. I close my eyes when I smell lavender now and it takes me back to my very first visit and great memories.

I'd have to say my FAVORITE smell is the orange smell on Soarin. Dunno why but that smell gets me everytime.

Of course, then everytime I smell anything orange I think about Disney. Or anytime I drink/smell pineapple juice, I start craving a dole whip float!

I love the smell of the towels in the room.

I also love the smell of the Poly, as soon as you walk in the door, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Another is the smell of the coffee cart outside of TOT. I always go there in morning at DHS and I can smell it even before I enter the courtyard.

The sawdusty smell of the lobby of the Villas at Wilderness Lodge

The apple pie smell they squirt at you at Philharmagic. I've actually found a Bath and Body Works plug in that smells like it!

1. The smells on the Soarin ride!
2. The "Sand and Surf" scent from Yankee Candle reminds me of the Boardwalk, because we always have that plugged into the outlet in the room.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like....victory.

Oh and the monorail aka Old Band-Aid because I think it smells like Band-Aids.

I worked for Yankee Candle for years and certain times of the year my DH would say I smelled like Disney when I would come home from work - most of the time it was in winter when we had all of the xmas fragrances in the store.

My favorite WDW smells are the apple cinnamon smell at Philharmagic, the pine smell at the Christmas store, and all of the scents from Soarin' - I can't pick just one!

weird, but i LOVE the way POC smells. When i get in and round the corner into the ride with the mist and chlorine and musty smell, i know i'm at disney.

The two smells that remind me most of Disney are the chlorine smell that wafts from the local indoor pool and rain on hot concrete. Both take me there in an instant.

1. Favorite Scent- Walking through the bakeries in France and Norway

2. Real world smell that reminds me of Disney- The smell of a lit fireplace reminds me of Spaceship Earth...the part where Rome fell and it was the dark ages. A bit obscure, but it always reminds my husband and I of our favorite Disney park!

That is actually my favorite smell from Disney


My favorite / odd real world is when I'm behind a big ol' NJTransit bus...diesel fumes, ah the sweet smell of waiting to get to the parks

My original favorite smell was smelling the orange blossoms during that farming scene in the old Horizons pavilion at Epcot. Oh how I miss that ride..

My current favorite smell at disney is also POC. When I smell that I just know I am there.

This was my favorite smell when I was a teenager. The orange smell in Soarin' is the same or very similar and it always reminds me of Horizons.

And the Christmas store smell that is Disney World heaven to me

All the smells at Disney that people have mentioned are great. I sat here imagining them all....the lobbys of Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Polynesian; the water rides in MK: Pirates and Splash - just thinking of the smell, I can hear the music.

Real world smell! We talk about this ALL the time in my house. Eggo Chocolate Chip Waffles smell like the Main Street Bakery. My daughter loves these and every time they are in the toaster....I'm on Main Street in my mind...
