"that means we are due for one"

Way to go Pete! ;)

But on a serious note, im not chewing you out, or sending emails or anything, but i think that may be an exaple of when humor goes to far. It was funny to me, in the way you delivered it, but not really appropriate. Kevins bar joke on the other hand, priceless

This was just coincidence and I still have no hesitations getting on an airplane.

Oh dear, i am glad no one was hurt. Still will not make me scared to go on a plane, one of the safest ways to travel!

I don't think Pete went too far, it was in jest, and i am not superstitious, if you let yourself think these things will happen, you ignore them when someone predicts something but focus if anything remotely bad happens that could somehow, possibly related to the prediction.

It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Pete's comments were the first thing I thought of when I heard about the plane accident. Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt.

Traveling by plane is still very, very safe

I had better listen to the show....I am saving it for my slow few days at work this week. I gotta tell you, I HATE to fly...actually went to a therapist so I could get off the alcohol/xanax cocktail that got me through most of my flights. Since Denver is our airport, I will be a nice stress case on our next flight....keep me off continental and 737s....(I HATE 737s.....)

I will catch up with the show and hear what was said tomorrow....

I used to be a travel agent for corporate travel. I once booked a guy on an Eastern flight that crashed and he survived. He told me all about it and I have hated flying ever since. Needless to say he never wanted to fly on that airline again.:rotfl:

I'm okay with the Xanax. I wouldn't want my doctor to take them away.

I was quite happy with it, too! But after having our little man, I had to be a bit more alert on flights. EMDR worked, but I still hate takeoffs and have flying "rituals", but, alas, I had to put the xanax away.

This freaked me out, too. I don't really believe everything is a coincidence (there are way too many in my life and in the lives of others), but in this case, it was. I thank God no one was hurt, but I started thinking about this whole thing. There is a gaggle of news coverage about it, even when the accident was relatively minor (no deaths, less than 10 serious injuries, barely any airtime before the accident). I then think about all the car accidents there are in this country and how they never make the news. This is because air accidents happen so rarely while car accidents are very common. Keeping this in mind, I feel very safe in the air. The only thing that gets me is that there is almost certain death if anything happens in the air, but I try to block that out of my head.

I am so happy nobody was killed.
I don't think I would want to be in a Xanax haze if I was on a plane and this happened.

I have an agreement with Best Friend Ben (who's going on the cruise w/me) that if anything like this should happen, he is to knock me out and throw my limp body out of the plane. ;) So, I don't think the Xanax thing will be a problem.

After hearing the "there haven't been any issues for a while" and "so we're due" kind of comments, am I the only one who immediately started thinking

GAMBLER'S FALLACY!!!

Really loud in my head?

Are you sure he is just not going to knock you out? :lmao:
