That feeling you get when you set foot on Magical Express

Last few times I have been to disney I just drove since it was a 3 hour drive. This upcoming trip will be my first for Magical express. Hearing this is making me more excited. I can't wait.

Magical express takes less time then renting a car because of that wait. I haven't waited more than 30 minutes and have been at my resort within an hour of landing. It's so nice to just sit back and let someone else do the driving and enjoy the ride, it means for us vacation has begun!

I guess for me it really depends. When we are first getting there, then yes, I get the butterflies in my tummy and get anxious to see the buses and the CMs with their big Mickey hands waving to us. However, when it is time for us to leave and head back to the airport, then no I don't like to see ME at all, instead I get a huge droopy face and my DD14 has tears in her eyes, even though we both know that we will be back.

The butterflies actually first hit me taking that little monorail in the airport. It's like...we're here we're here! Then when i see the CM at the check in waving wit ha mickey hand... :) getting on the bus is icing on the cake!

That little monorail is just like ME...it is the best and worst ride that you will ever take. It's the best going to WDW, and the worst leaving.

Totally agree about Magical Express - more the video then anything! Especially after a long flight it's oddly calming!

But then kinda equally depressing when you have to watch the leaving one! LOL
I totally agree!:)

The feelings on The Happy Bus can't be put into words!:)

Conversely,NOTHING feels as bad as The Sad Bus(aka the "You can hear a pin drop bus"!)!:)

The "Now it's time to say goodbye" video should NOT be shown on The Sad Bus-very cruel of Disney to do that!lol:)

SO exciting going!!! And so sad leaving, but it can be worse...last trip they couldn't find our reservation for our ME return trip so they put us on a taxi/shuttle. It was soooo depressing. I didn't get the WDW "closure" I needed!! Lol....

We don't fly, we drive from Missouri - our excitement builds a little more slowly LOL

The drive to the resort on magical express is the happiest bus ride in the world. The drive back to the airport is the saddest. Last trip we spent departure day at magic kingdom. As the boat pulled away to take us to the GF to board magical express, my then 3.5 year old whispered, as she waved "bye bye magic kingdom, I'll see ya real soon." I think I cried all the way to the airport!

That feeling is just about the best thing in the world! Once I'm on that bus I KNOW that I have a whole week at Disney-rain, blazing heat, crowds-none of that matters at that point because I'M THERE!!

Now the Tragical Depress is just a whole different thing that I don't want to think about

Our trip next month will be the first time we've rented a car while staying onsite so no ME for us. (we're planning a day at Universal and we'll also use it to get groceries). The video makes me absolutely giddy knowing that we're at WDW so I will miss it this time. Although, I bet it is on YouTube... Maybe I'll have my DH drive and I will watch it in the car while we drive to AKL! (I've been known to listen to the Wishes soundtrack while we set off fireworks!)

I know that I have arrived once I am on ME. I have to pinch myself to make sure that this moment, after waiting for so long, has finally arrived. I love it! Now the drive on the way back to the airport is another story.....

HAHA Sad Bus...I love this, it's so true!! You can feel the deflation of energy.

But I love the Happy Bus! I get goosebumps every time the welcome video starts

as stated above, this is where vaca starts! we've navigated to the airport, gone thru tsa.. and stuffed ourselves in the tin can for the last few hours. once we're aboard DME, I can put the mind on idle, relax, and forget about everything outside "The World":-)

I'm getting the crazy butterflies right now thinking about it! We'll be on the "wonderful, happy, amazing" DME trip this Friday morning (and the sad, horrible, depressing one 9/19 haha)! Squeeee!! Just need to get through the horribly stressful 3 hour flight (I HATE flying!)

I love that bus! My husband suggested getting a limo or town car for our last trip and I did consider it... until I thought about how much I like taking Magical Express. Seriously, who would choose a bus over a limo? There's just something about the bus and video, though. I will admit that I don't like it as much since they changed it. It feels more like one long commercial than the fun video featuring Mickey from a few years back, but it still helps me get so excited for the days ahead. Honestly, though, I get excited when I am getting off the plane and see all of the Disney guests with their Mickey bags, wearing Disney clothes and hats, and are waiting for their flights home. How cruel does that sound? I don't mean it that way, though. Seeing all of their Disney treasures and souvenirs that will help them remember the wonderful memories that they made help me get even more excited for my upcoming days.

Now the bus back to the airport? It can kiss my foot. I find myself always hoping that it will break down and, for some unknown reason, there will be no other bus available to take us to the airport (but magically there will be a bus that can take us back to the resort for another day or two of Disney fun - it doesn't have to make sense, right?).

When I board the Magical Express, I know I'm almost 'home' and it's the best feeling in the world. I never want to leave. :) But when I am forced, mentally kicking and screaming, back onto the ME, I start counting the days until I can come back 'home' again.

There always has to be one, and this time it's me.....Whenever I see DME I say "Glad I'm not on that!". Both times my wife and I used it, it was a disaster.

The 1st time we arrived on a late flight, ~9PM and it took ~2hrs to board the bus and get dropped off at check in (All Star Resort). Then we waited another 2hrs to get our bags. It was 2AM by the time we got settled in and planned to hit the parks early that morning...no chance.

The 2nd time was a hot and miserable afternoon during an unexpected busy time of the year. The buses were packed and hot with screaming kids and irritated adults. The driver sat and waited until we almost had people standing in the aisles. Even when we planned for 3hrs+ before we could head to the parks, we were even later to arrive because it seemed everyone on our bus was headed to the same resort. Check in was overflowed.

Agree with the return trips, though. Lots of teary kids and parents overloaded with bags and souvenirs and short of patience and energy. Being at the bus 3hrs+ before a 9am flight is also tough after a week of hitting the parks. Nope. Give me a rental and less hassle any day.

Giddy with anticipation upon seeing ME to begin our WDW vacation and disappointment & exhaustion when we arrive back at the airport for our trip home.

Yup, I love boarding Magical Express. And I start to tear up when we pass under the gate/arch. My family laughs at me every time. I have no control over it. :)
