mentioned to DS last night that we will need to be creative so we can dress-up for MNSSHP - he said his extend will be to wear the Haunted Mansion shirt he got for Christmas
Sooooo my ? is - what % dress-up? and how dressed-up do they really get?
I worked the MNSSHP all 10 nights last year and I can honestly say that the closer you get to October 31st the more people of all ages dress up.
I was amazed and amused at the number of adults that went all out. The people who just wore an eye patch or a shirt that said "This is my costume" were the ones who stood out as odd. It was as if they wanted to participate but they just couldn't let go and enjoy. If you don't you are the one who looks out of place in one opinion.
Adults wore everything from home-styled gypsy, princess, witch, costumes to Jack Skellington, Mickey Mouse, Pooh Bear Woody, Jessie, Buzz, store bought costumes.
I even caught a glympse on the last few nights of an "Air-styled" costume. The guests told me they put the costume on and tilled it with air I can't even remember what some of them were. Just thing round. Like pumplins and such.
To answer your question as best as I can as many as 85-95% dress up.
We did MNSSHP last Oct '03, and I would say that 90% is fairly accurate. Almost every child was dressed in costume, and mostly all adults were dressed in either a Halloween t-shirt (as my wife and I were), or an all-out costume. I was actually suprised by the number of adults in full costume. This was our family's first time doing MNSSHP and MK had such a different look and feel. I must say it was a LOT of fun, and you will definitely enjoy it!
We were there early Oct. 2003. All the kids were dressed up and about 50% of adults were. My daughter was Tiger Lily, but the rest of the party, all the adults wore Groucho glasses. We had a great time, and everyone loved our glasses.
We were there Oct 24th '03 and I would most certainly agree that 90% were dressed up. We were a party of 11, 6 adults, 4 teenagers and 1 child and we were all dressed up except for 2.
Dressing up makes it! My son & I dressed as Pirates of the Carribbean - we had so much fun on the attraction, playing with the CM's - dueling for treasure etc.....
We went several years ago & all the kids were dressed & only about 1/2 the adults - I heard that it is changing & more are dressing now.....
Next time I go, I will dress as Leota......
