I got it........ my daughter who is in Disneyland called, Mom I'm okay but I got hurt, I still marched in the parade, but they need to take me for x-rays. She's fine, she somehow in the park on a ride (PoC) sprained, and did damage to her ligaments in her ankle. But I'm gonna finish the parks in a wheel chair, I can still do the rides and her group was thrilled, they get to go to the front of the line.

I feel a few more greys coming on............

oh no, that's too bad!

Hope it's nothing serious and that she'll recover quickly.

Better that than to find out that your DD was hurt and nobody did anything about it. :earseek:

Our son was hurt at marching band practice and we didn't get a phone call nor did either of the band instructors do anything about his injury. I think that they were trying to make an example of James so that the other boys would stop playing football between the end of school and the start of marching band practice. By the time my wife picked him up at school, his hand had swollen to twice it's normal size. Instead of going home, she took him to the ER. Fortunately (as in your DD's case), nothing was broken. It took over two months for the swelling in his hand to go down. And his hand still looks a bit puffy to me.

My mom warned me that parenthood was not going to be easy. And she was (and is) so right. I know that you'll be worried until you see her again. Hugs for you while you wait for her to return home.

Oh, gosh, I hope she's OK! My mother tore ligaments, and it's not pretty.

Now, me... :o Freshman year of college I slipped and fell in the dorms, breaking my ankle. On Mother's Day. That was SO not the call Mom was waiting for that day! "Uh, Happy Mother's Day. Do you happen to know my insurance info?"

I got one of those calls 2.5 years ago when my 13 year old was attending the BSA National Jamboree at Fort AP Hill.:( He called me 6 hours AFTER he had fallen and broken his wrist. He was very calm, "Mom, don't panic - BUT....." were his very first words....:p He was very excited about the camo cast the Army doctors put on his arm....

I hope your DD enjoys the rest of her trip - a friend's son has a broken leg and they just got back from Disney and said they were treated like royalty!:D

ACH! Ugh! I hate those phone calls!
Thank goodness, she sounds like she's doing fine now.
Hang in there.

I remember those phonecalls well as a marching band mom!!! One year on Memorial Day (a HOT one on top of it) my son's band was doing a program at the local Veterans' Cemetary. I dropped by to watch and for the life of me could NOT find Ds in the saxophone section. Come to find out he had passed out from the heat and the wool uniform under a tree and on top of a grave.

I also got a phone call from him at college the night before I was leaving for WDW. "Mom, I am OK but I got acid from my lab experiment splashed in my eye by accident! Can you get me my eye dr's phone number?" Turned out he had chemical conjunctivitus!!!!

You never stop worrying about em!!!!

YIKES! What a scary phone call. Thank goodness she isn't seriously injured. I hope her ankle is 100% better very soon!
