Never having been on a DISNEY cruise, is there ever a time you first get that ......AHHHHHH Disney, I'm Home.....feeling? You know...we get it every time we first step onto MainStreet and look down the road at the castle...my whole family just rushes to get to that point and then pauses-just for a sec -and takes a wonderful deep breath and just breathes in everything...music, the smells, the huge bouquet of balloons, goofy standing by surrounded by kids, horse drawn trolley...anything happen like that on the cruise? I hope so 'cause this our Disney fix for the year! We go to other amusement parks closer to home but NEVER get that Disney...AHHHH! -Gail

For me it happens three times - all on the first day.

1) When you walk into the port terminal. Disney touches everywhere. Take the time to explore. They have a model of the ship, inlays in the floor, etched windows. Just wonderful. As an added bonus you enter the ship through Mickey Ears!

2) The minute you walk on board. They announce your family and you are in the middle of a beautiful atrium. Again Disney touches everywhere. It is hard to take it all in during these first few minutes so be sure and go back later in the cruise and really take a look around - beautiful.

3) Last, but by no means least, sailaway as the horn blows "when you wish upon a star". Gets me every time. It lets my heart know we are starting our magical adventure!

Now while these all happen the first day there are many Disney touches the rest of the time to keep you in that Disney mood and the ships horn plays I believe at noon on sea days and as you leave port. Lots of fun!

When the DCL Bus rolls the tape on the way to the port. Can't help it, but I do get teary eyed. SAPPY, I know!

I definately get that "at home" feeling everytime I walk on board....I don't know if everyone would get that sentimental feeling the very first time you step onboard (because it is a brand new experience)...but if you go again on DCL you definately will!!!! You will be hooked for life!!!

I get that "Disney Feeling" much more on the cruise than I do at WDW lately....

One of the reasons we cruise so much is that we find the Disney magic much more on the ship than at the parks (the cost-cutting measures are so apparent at WDW that it's taken a lot of that Disney feeling away for us). There have been too many times to count, but an example from our cruise last weekend was waiting for hubby to find his camera to take a photo with Timon, who had come to Parrot Cay. As he was fumbling in his bag, a family with two little boys came along. One of them ran right up to Timon, and his eyes were as big as saucers! It was so cute! His older brother was wary and wouldn't approach, but he watched with those same huge eyes. The little one wasn't shy at all and was right there for a big hug. See the little ones experiencing Disney is really magic to me.

When I watch Disney Dreams, and the scene where the pixie dust appears over the ship, that brings a tear to my eye because it touches me in a magical way that only Disney can do.

Driving to the port, when we get our first site of the twin smoke stacks.

1: I feel it when I first drive up to the port and see the ship again. 2: When Minnie walks into the terminal with her little suitcase. 3: During the embarkation photo and the name announcement, when so many CMs say, "<I>You're back! So good to have you with us again!</I>," etc. 4: Receiving such warm greetings from my favorite servers, and even being remembered by those I <I>don't</I> remember. 5: Walking into my favorite stateroom again. 6: When the horn plays "<I>When You Wish Upon A Star</I>."
