As we celebrate Thanksgiving today, wishing everyone a wonderful day with family and friends. Be safe, be respectful, be thankful. Say hello to somebody you don't know, give a hug to somebody you do know (or be daring, hug that somebody you don't know). Enjoy your blessings, be they large or small. We really do have much to be thankful for. We can be hopeful in the coming days and year. Keep the memories of those not with us in person this year front and center. Keep that spirit going the whole year through, it's a winner. Enjoy the day, enjoy the Season.

I will take my special moment right now, to thank you, @flyingdumbo127, for your kindness, caring, and friendship. Today is a hard day for our family, as six years ago on Thanksgiving we came home to the phone call telling us my wonderful mother-in-law had died. I have no words to describe the loss we all still feel. Mona, your thoughtful card arrived yesterday, when I was feeling down, and it brought a bright spot to my day. I am thankful that you are part of my DIS family, and appreciate your kindness and ability to look past your own four walls and into the lives of others.

Happy Thanksgiving Dan and to your entire family

I literally just listened to that song yesterday and as normal, it made me emotional. I hadn’t heard it in a long time and then. it came up on a playlist's - I was pleasantly surprised. At one time this song made me think of a certain friend that I sadly never see anymore - his second wife gave him a hard time about our friendship - very unfortunate because we’ve been friends since high school, he’s DD26’s godfather and was my Catholic sponser when I converted to Catholicism 32 years ago.

Now this song makes me think of DD21, who’s my best friend and she can always count on me. I’m always so thankful for our relationship.

This song always makes me emotional, too. It was the background song of the year that my best friend was dying from pancreatic cancer. She lived with my sister, and the 3 of use just powered on through the year, knowing what the outcome would be but doing everything we could to keep her alive and happy during her remaining days. I wish she could have had more than barely 34 years in this life. Sometimes I am gobsmacked when I realize that I have lived a whole lifetime without her by my side, that I was able to experiences all the riches of life (spouse, children, home, etc) that she never even got a taste of; it blows me away.
