My husband and I are thinking about spending Thanksgiving week at the Poly. A few questions? 1.) What are the crowds like? 2.) Are all the Christmas decoratons up everywhere? 3) Where would be the best place to eat Thanksgiving dinner?

I've got a bit of experience with these questions. We've been there every TG for the past 3 years, and this year we'll be just down the street at the Grand Floridian.

Crowds... TG week builds toward Thursday-Saturday crowds that are very large. However, you'll have the weather on your side (beautiful temps), but if you plan your attack a little, the use Fastpass, you'll have a great time. BB is quiet, if you can handle a water park in cooler temps.

Christmas Decorations: Absolutely. The bad news this year is the Osbourne Family lights at MGM will not be up this year.

Restaurant: There's turkey everywhere. Pick your favorite and it's sure to be memorable. This year, we're going to try for LTT.

timc--DH & I are considering making ressies for the Contemp. arriving the Sat. after Thanksgiving and staying for a week. Will the crowds be thinning by Sunday? We probably won't hit any of the parks on Saturday.

momtomany,

It is perfect timing. we are going that week for the fourth time. and it is great. The crowds are leaving on Sunday and the parks are yours! We are coming in on Thanksgiving Day (to heck with the turkey!) just to enjoy the resort for a couple of days before we hit the parks.

Thanks! I was hoping that would be the case. Do you think the Downtown Disney area would be packed on that Saturday after Thanksgiving? Trying to decide what we can do after we arrive.

Perfect timing, I wish we could go that week again! We arrived on Saturday after Thanksgiving last year and stayed for 10 days. It was perfect, no crowds. It could have been a little warmer for swimming though! (we swam anyway, but it was a cold run back to the room!!) The christmas decorations are so beautiful. I think that is the perfect time to go to WDW.

I went 2 years ago (sigh - has it been that long!!??) - and I thought the crowds were fine. HOWEVER, I went down the Sunday before TG, and left that Friday (I really do despise BIG crowds) - and it was fine for me. I'm sure you'll have a great time! (P.S. I went to AK on TG and the crowds weren't bad at all - even got an Eeyore dressed up as a turkey with the year stitched in it - too cute!!)

Have fun!
