How are the crowds? Is this considered an "off" time in terms of prices?

Go to allears.net and look up resort prices. It is not "off time" as it's one of the more more crowded times of the year. Therefore Disney raises prices.

Its busy. Anytime kids are out of school…WDW is even more crowded.
easywdw.com is also a great site to compare prices and crowds

We went the week of Thanksgiving last year for 8 days with our departure day being Black Friday. The crowds were light (IMO) until the day before Thanksgiving. It started to pick up 2 days before Thanksgiving but they were tolerable for us. So if Thanksgiving falls at the end of your trip you will be great crowdwise! Just make sure you go on all your favorite rides/attractions the first days of your trip and schedule a pool/relaxation day for the holiday :-)

I definitely wouldn't be there for thanksgiving, I was thinking leaving the Saturday before thanksgiving and coming home the day before thanksgiving. I guess crowds do not bother me as much, as long as it isn't like Christmas crowds, which was brutal. I was just hoping the hotel prices would be cheaper!
