Thanksgiving Week Crowds

I used to be a DL vet and then moved on to DW after we moved to the East Coast... so it's been awhile.

We are considering a trip to DL during the first part of Thanksgiving week and I was wondering how the crowds compare to DW. I know that a lot of CA schools have the entire week off, so I thought that might impact crowds a bit. And our last DL trip was during the month of May, so I think we had avoided spring break visitors.

Our trips to DW are either in March or the first week of December, so not crazy busy times.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

.....well....the first week of December.....is crazy busy times at Disneyland past noon when folks.....who live, as you know, all around disneyland, so a great place to spend the holiday evenigs to get into the spirit and even swallow a few spirits.

thanksgiving 2016 was rough, which was a surprise, because there is now a week after Thankgsiving which has been gone for awhile on the calendar and i thought the return of those extra holidays would take off the pressure off thanksgiving, plus the fear of el nino, well el nino has come and gone, and all those folks will be returning 2017.....it will be a rough 2017 holiday this year.

I went the first half of the week in 2016. It was packed...like Spring Break or almost Christmas packed. It's actually less crowded right now than it was then. That being said, the weather was perfect, the holiday decorations were all up, and it was a wonderful trip (despite my husband getting the flu). Honestly, there are so few non-peak times now. Just go for it. It's a magical time of year to experience the parks and typically great weather.
