Hi everyone
Wonder if you can help me, coming from the Uk not sure about public holidays in the States. We have been on holiday to WDW at Thanksgiving on a few occasions and always found it to be great, crowds very manageable, last trip the longest we waited was 30 mins for Soarin (after reading these boards that's a record !)
My question is 'Is Presidents Day/week a bigger more popular holiday than Thanksgiving?' :confused3
We are currently planning a trip and were originally gonna go for my 40th but that fell on Good Friday, and apparently Easter is just CRAZY  So we thought we will go for my oldest DD 13th birthday, which falls in Presidents week :rolleyes1 - will this be as manageable as Thanksgiving? or should we give that a wide berth too???? :wave2:

I don't think you'll have much to worry about...President's Day isn't a huge holiday, after all. The one thing you might have to worry about is college students on an early spring break, but even that probably won't affect it that much.

New England states have Presidents week off for February vacation so it does tend to get crowded. IMost attractions did have a 45 +min wait (2 hours for soarin) but with FP it was managable.

I also have a trip planned for the week before Thanksgiving-(flying home on Thanksgiving Day) I'm hoping for a good week crowd wise and weather wise but I'm mostly going for the Christmas Decorations. I noticed that they are going to have MVMCP 2 dates before Thanksgiving this year so I'm hoping that they will have most of the holiday decorations out before I leave (traditionally it happens overnight on Thanksgiving, but with 4 parks and all the hotels I think they try to do some before now)

According to the boards, the week after Thanksgiving is just wonderful crowd wise. If you can stay till then, I'd go then just to see the Christmas Decorations.

President's Day isn't a huge holiday, but it happens to coincide with a huge Florida specific "holiday", the Daytona 500!! Between the President's Day holiday and all of the race fans, Disney is packed!! I would definitely opt for Thanksgiving Day, as Thanksgiving is more of a "stay home and cook" kind of holiday. The times that we've gone to Disney around Thanksgiving have been pretty slow. Have fun!!

I went to WDW last Thanksgiving and President's Day Week (which is February vacation in the Northeast) and found President's week to be busier than Thanksgiving week. The weekend after Thanksgiving is busy but the rest of the week is managable.
