Thanksgiving?? Too crowded or not?

Are the days prior to Thanksgiving a good time to visit?

We are planning on going Thanksgiving 2019. It works the best for our adult kids' schedules, except for summer which I have said NEVER AGAIN. I can handle the crowds better than I can the heat. But I just wonder how much more crowded it will be next Thanksgiving than normal due to the opening of Galaxy's Edge.

We go at that time every year for the last few years. (It's the only time my daughter is off school that works for us besides the very hot summers- which is when we used to go). We love it. It's definitely crowded, but we find it very manageable. Don't get me wrong, there are times it's nuts. (especially something like waiting to watch HEA in MK with a huge crowd)... but we find the wknd before and early in the week to be crowded by manageable. We try to hit everything we really really want to do early in the vaca. And then end of the week when the crowds intensify (Wed -the T-giving wknd) we can do shorter park trips using our FP+, soak in atmosphere etc. We do rope drop often, especially early in the trip just so we can get our favorites in, and also do the night EMH once at MK, but we make sure the next morning is not a rope drop day :)

Bottom line- the Rope dropping frequently (we didn't every day cause some days we wanted to sleep in a bit) and FP+ made it fine. I'd take it over summer ANY day. Crowds may be similar, but at least it's not crowds AND heat!

We’re wondering the same thing. We normally go when kids are in school, but we’re looking at taking our granddaughter, who will turn 8 during the trip.

We were there this past Thanksgiving and it was slightly less crowded than this President’s Day week. Thanksgiving Day was actually low crowds at AK, we had a great day there. I would not worry so much about the crowds, it is crowded all the time now. Even our end of August was busy because the park hours were cut, staff was cut, and attractions often only had one area open instead of the two areas.

We have been so many times now and these last two years it really hasn’t mattered when we went, it is busy!
