Thanksgiving Dinner??

We are going to Disney next week - arrive on Sunday. This is our first time there (other than when I was a kid). We have three kids - ages 10, 8 and 2. For Thanksgiving we had originally wanted to go to Le Cellier but that booked real fast. We ended up getting a PS for The Coral Reef - it looked cool with the tank. Based on the reviews that I have been recently reading, we are now having second thoughts. Problem is when I called back, everything is booked on that day. They said cancellations would likely happen 48 hours before the date.

Since this is our first time, what are our chances of getting a new PS for Thanksgiving when we get there? Any suggestions? We were also looking at the Libery Tree Tavern as a choice.

At this late date you are going to have a tough time switching. I would not cancel the CR PS until the very last minute and only after you have something else.
The YC/BC usually runs a buffet in their convention area for those without PSs, but I would not count on it. When you arrive you may want to give the FD a call and see if they will be doing that this year.

Most of the Disney restaurants off the turkey dinner as their special for the day with the exception of the countries in EC. Most likely this will be the special at CR.

There's a buffet at Trail's End that doesn't accept p.s. so you could try there or maybe something will open up somewhere else. Keep trying. And if all fails and your heart is set on a turkey dinner perhaps you could go to Liberty Tree Tavern another day in your trip - I love their pilgrim's feast. I think it will be very hard to get in ON Thanksgiving Day though since it is very popular with it's colonial setting. Good luck and let us know what happens when you return!

Every single place at WDW will have turkey on thanksgiving. My suggestion, if you want something interesting to go with that turkey is to try Boma. 2 years ago, I was able to get a ressie for 7 people 2 weeks before t-day. They had turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce in addition to the african stuff. It was fabulous.

The swan/dolphin hotels serve a wonderful thanksgiving dinner. You can book online at the hotel website.

Well, we just came back and we were pleased with the Coral Reef. My wife and I both love seafood and the meals were great. A little bit on the smaller side but still quite filling. One of the kids got the traditional turkey meal so he was also happy. And the kids loved the fish tank. Of the six days we were there, it was the highest cost but for two adult dinners and three kids, the bill was $160 before tax, much better than I was expecting. All in all a great time. If you are not a seafood person I wouldn't recommend but if you do, I don't see any problem with going.

Thanks for the previous advice. My wife is now already planning our return trip.
