We will be "going home" for the first time over Thanksgiving this year. (WHOOP!!!) Any suggestions for Thanksgiving dinner? There will be 11 of us, so might it be better to bring it back to BWV and eat there rather than try to go out? Where can we order it? Can it be delivered? We will have a car if we need to pick it up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you want a traditional thanksgiving dinner, I have two suggestions. Boatwrights at PO and Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. Both had very good pot roast and turkey dinners. And both have a relaxing atmosphere consistent with a holiday meal. In the case of Liberty tree, they have the meals all the time at lunch as individual meals and then have a price fix menu at dinner with characters. Crystal palace has also had tradtional choices at thier buffet on Thanksgiving. In the past I've gotten a list of restaurants form Disney that would have tradtional meals. I am not recalling the rest of the choices but Whispering Canyon and Olivias stick in my mind as well. Others should have info as well.

We will be at WDW over Thanksgiving, also with a family of 15 this year. We are going to get the premade dinners that Publix makes and reheat it all in the villa. We did this a few years back and it was good. We feel with the size of our group and that day, we would be better off doing Thanksgiving dinner that way and avoid some crowds. We are planning on sending the teenagers to DisneyQuest for the day and the rest of us will do Epcot for the day until dinnertime.

My dopey family voted for Chef Mickey's!!! My dh isn't a huge fan of a big turkey dinner so figured he could get what he likes here. Not the most festive of Thanksgiving dinners but, hey....we'll be together in WDW.

Not sure if there is one near WDW but Honey Baked Ham, has a fantastic turkey. I was also thinking Publix or Albertsons are bound to do something too, you could always call and ask the store manager. Or get a Grocery stop or go to the market and pick up your own fixins. You could do a small scale dinner for everyone-homestyle (with 11 people I am sure you will have a few that might be interested).

We were there for Thanksgiving a few years ago. There were seven of us and we ate at Cape May. It was great! They had the regular seafood buffet plus they had the Thanksgiving stuff - Turkey, stuffing, etc. Great meal and no cooking or cleaning up. We stayed away from the parks on Thanksgiving and instead went to the pool, had an early dinner, rented the surrey bikes and then went to DTD.

Hi,
We will be at OKW with a party of nine over Thanksgiving and have been wondering how to do dinner as well. We really prefer to eat in being we should have plenty of room but do have some concerns about how to do the turkey.
We arrive on tues which doen't allow time to get a frozen bird and have thaw in time,we were wondering if fresh turkeys are available any where.
As far as getting prepared meals do you have to reverve those.
Thanks

We have done a traditional Thanksgiving dinner three times at OKW. The first time Disney offered a dinner that was delivered to your villa, but they stopped that after 1999. 2001 and 2003 we got a great dinner at Publix we arrived on Sun and ordered it then for pickup on Wed. I think they take orders right up to Tues. We bought extras such as dessert, cider, salad etc. If you do decide on this remember to buy/bring aluminin foil and containers/baggies for the left overs. I usually bring Thanksgiving napkins, candles to add to the festivities. The guys even offered to do the reheating and watched football without guilt.

We did dinner from Publix this past Christmas. It was great. We ordered about 5 days in advance and we were able to request pick up day and time of our choice. I hesitated to pick up much in advance, but after seeing how they packaged everything it would have been fine. Husband went and picked up the meal and he said that there were many, many meals waiting to be picked up.

We had turkey, gravy, dressing, apple-cranberry relish and mashed potatoes. The price was very reasonable, and we were totally pleased with the meal. The turkey was prepared in a bag and then packaged in another outer bag. All you had to do was take off the outer bag and then reheat the turkey in its sealed baking bag and you were done. You can also order hams and prime rib, I believe if you desire. I think we got the smallest turkey and we had 6 people eat and then had plenty of leftovers.

We were staying at OKW and it was great to be able to spread out and not be sitting in a restaurant where we had to leave as soon as our meal was over.

Here is the phone number to the Publix on Vineland (right behind the outlet mall) if you are interested, (407) 238-9924. I was impressed enough to make sure that I held onto it for future reference.

Thanks RweTHEREyet
And everyone else for the great information, phone#, it really helps.

We had a dinner delivered at the BWV 2 years ago with all the fixings plus fancy tablecloths and waiters ..it was very good about $30.00 per person then. We loved it and No cooking. We wemt to the parks and at 3:00PM we sat down and ate. We had 10 people in our party. Not sure if the BWV are offering this anymore though
