Okay - just booked a trip 11/18-11/26 so once again we'll be there for Thanksgiving. It's our third time in a row...but usually we only go for a short trip. So, I'm ready to plan our dinner. I've read some of the menus on the home page. We ate one year, years ago at Yacht Club Galley - it was great. Went back in 2004 and the food wasn't good. They turkey wasn't off the bone, just pressed meat...big disappointment.

So, last year we ate at the Dolphin Ballroom. The food was out of sight! Fabulous. But, it's such a big huge room and the atmosphere was just sort of "cold." So, we're hoping to get it right this time.

Please share any and all of your Thanksgiving meal experiences. Where you ate, what year it was, was it real carved off the bone turkey (very important to us), etc etc.

After looking at the menus it looks like Flying Fish would be good. Anyone tried that?

Please tell all - let's share and make our holiday plans.

Thanks

If you have a car, head out to Cappricios at the Peabody resort on INternational Drive. The food is way more than you could ever expect. They have all the traditional items (and it tastes almost, and I mean almost as good as home made). Then they have all the extras, all the gourmet things you would exepct to find in a place like this.

The room is beautifully decorated and the service is fantastic.

I never thought of off-site. Thank you.

Ya'll keep em' coming...

In 2005, we ate at Artist Point. It wasn't a regular menu-we had 3 options for appetizer, main course, and then dessert. It was wonderful-great food, great service, great atmosphere.

I'll give a thumbs up to that! We didn't dine there on Thanksgiving itself, but a couple days afterwards. WL always has such a festive feel for the holidays, it's just wonderful!

This will be our first Thanksgiving at WDW. We are eating at 1900 Park Fare. It's a buffet, with Thanksgiving foods and many other choices; something for everyone, I think. Also, I wanted someplace fun for the kids. :)

Hey, Pam in NC - another Carolina girl here going around the same time. This is our first trip. We have an ADR at Rose and Crown and I'm hoping for the best! Where are you staying?

Pam,

We ate at HBD last year and I had the holiday special which included carved turkey breast and some other scrumptious fixins. The rest of my family ordered off the regular menu. My food was very, very good. Alot better than my usual home cooking. It was $22.99 and did not include dessert.

We will be there the exact same time, and just booked this week, too! When I tried to make ADR's for Thanksgiving we were shut-out over and over... Now, I was a bit limited - we are planning to spend the evening in MGM, and are staying at Yacht Club, so wanted to either eat on the Boardwalk or MGM. Right now, we have ADR's at Mama Melrose's - NOT my first choice for Thanksgiving. I am really disappointed.

So, I am looking forward to the responses you get - hopefully something promising will be posted at MGM or on the Boardwalk, that actually has availability!

I'm just now getting time to come back to my thread to read the suggestions. My DH actually suggested Artist Pointe because he said the atmosphere would be very warm and festive. Great suggestion.

Hello to my fellow Carolina girl. We are staying at CSR.

I hope the ressies aren't getting booked up ALREADY - good grief. It's barely September.

I think we're going to decide between Artist Pointe and Flying Fish.

thanks to all. I welcome more suggestions. Seems like a lot of Disers will be going to the World for T-Day.

Hey bookworm....we're eating at Park Fare too. What time are you there?

PamNC...there is a Thanksgiving thread and I'm going to go find it and bring it back here in a jiffy. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1184011 and another http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1183953

When I started making ADR's a month ago I got the Park Fare because LTT was booked solid - not a hole to be found. Don't get discouraged if you can't get into your first choice or the time you want....just keep calling. There are a lot of choices.

I wasn't able to get CRT for my daughter's birthday on 11/20 and then one day a week ago....voila there it was. There's a thread we've started for November cancellations. Post there if you need a ressie at different place/time than what you can get thru WDW-Dine. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1196630

Good luck...and see you there!
