We typically spend every Thanksgiving at WDW (at least, it's been a custom for five years.) Rather than go out for our noon meal, we eat in our villa.

For a couple of years, the Cracker Barrel in Kissimmee had takeout available - you preordered your meal based on the number of folks eating and simply picked it up - simple and delicious.

But, apparently, that got to be a logistical nightmare and they aren't doing it. Do any of you good folks use any of the local grocers (Publix, Winn-Dixie, Goodings, etc.) to pre-prepare a meal for you to pick up? Have you started from scratch and cooked? Brought food from home, if you drove? Used wegoshop or someone like them?

I don't mind cooking (my wife says I'm weird like that.) But I want to work smarter, not harder, and if there's a grocer that has a good deli-type service, I'd love to hear your opinion. Or simply tell me what you've done or are doing.

This is our one meal in the villa. We're going out that evening.

TIA!

A couple of years ago we ordered Christmas dinner from Goodings. We ordered on line. We had to pick up the food by noon on 12/24. We got a fully cooked turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy and added a few other items like cranberries and pie. We just had to heat the food up to eat it. It took a lot longer than I had planned, but we really didn't have any theme park planned for the day anyway. I think the whole thing cost us about $40 or 50.

Check Winn Dixie, Goodings and Publix on line to see what they have or call the store directly.

Publix usually has meals like that -- at least they do where we live and at Hilton Head (where we usually spend Thanksgiving). I have the feeling their prices might be a little more attractive than Goodings'.
