We will be at BLT over thanksgiving. I was thinking to save $ we would not eat our meal in the park that day. I really do not want to cook but was wondering if anyone knew of any restaurants or grocery stores that offer a basic Thanksgiving meal prepared for purchase. Since we are staying in a condo and have our car this could be a good option for us. Any ideas?

Have you ever eaten Thanksgiving dinner at Disney?? It is really good! You might want to reconsider and eat there, then eat cheaply another day.

When I was at BWV on Thanksgiving one year my sister and her family came by with dinner bought at a local supermarket (they were living in Orlando at the time). I have to say, if you are used to buying the dinner this way, go ahead and reserve a dinner from one of the local markets- the DVC board can help you with what is nearby. My boys refused to leave to room, since Thanksgiving meant the Macy's parade on TV.

Publix offers a complete meal-to-go. Just reserve it ahead of time and pick up the day before. They are closed Thanksgiving day.

Publix would be your best bet. But Disney's Thanksgiving dinner is good too. All of the table services offer a traditional Thanksgiving fare, along side their regular menu, and there's no difference in price if you eat at a buffet. Select counter services offer a Thanksgiving meal.

Publix Deli Turkey Holiday Dinners

The centerpiece of the traditional holiday feast is a succulent, Publix Deli Fully Cooked Turkey. Ours simply requires heating before serving and comes with five delicious sides;

2.75 lb Old-Fashioned Cornbread Dressing,
2.75 lb Homestyle Mashed Potatoes,
32 oz Gravy,
8 oz Cranberry-Orange Relish,
and Apple-Cranberry Cobbler.

Each side has 4—6 servings. If you would like to add more sides to your meal, view a complete list of available Publix Deli side dishes.

Regular turkey dinner has 7—10 servings. 10-to 12-lb. Includes one container of each side.

Large turkey dinner has 14—18 servings. 16-to 18-lb. Includes two containers of each side.

(Regular) 7-10 Servings $39.99
(Large) 14-18 Servings $76.99

Do you absolutely HAVE to have a "regular" T.giving dinner? I know if we were at Disney my family absolutely WOULD NOT care about having a traditional turkey dinner. Too much other "fun" stuff to eat at Disney! Have a turkey dinner either before you leave or when you get home. Skip it while at Disney..... just an idea...................P

I bought the Thanksgiving Dinner- Turkey and 2 sides from Winn Dixie a few years ago to have at OKW. It was absolutely awesome! I chose the dressing/stuffing and sweet potatoes for my sides ( think mine also included rolls and gravy for some reason). I added some premade mashed potatoes that only needed to be warmed up, cranberry sauce, some marshmallows for the top of the sweet potato casserole, and some butter. It was an awesome meal... and actually the best turkey I had ever served!

There were supposed to be 7 of us for dinner, and there was no way we could really afford a real dinner at a WDW restaurant, no matter how hard I tried to figure out how to get the cost down so I would not have to cook, I just could not get it reasonable. It ended up being only 4 of us... I was PO'ed because for just 4, it would have been less expensive to just go out and I would not have had to re heat everything or clean up. Run the numbers for your self. It took me about 2 hours of prep.. since the turkey is cold .. as is everything else.

I think my meal also came with a pumpkin pie...All of it was quite good... If I had a crowd and no time, I would certainly do it again.. for 4 or 2.. No way!:hippie:
