I got lucky and was able to book the "last" available table at Storyteller's Cafe (at least that's what the CM told me) for Thanksgiving. :yay:

We've never done this before, has anyone here? I'm wondering what kind of stuff has been on the menu in previous years, and how was it? I realize it will have the Turkey day standards, but were there other choices besides turkey, like prime rib or ham? I'm sure the menu's will pretty much be the same at all the restuarants offering this.

Is anyone else going?

Last time I was there on Thanksgiving was 2003, so this information could be pretty outdated, but thought I'd reply anyway :)

We ate at the Plaza Inn, mostly because we were next to it when we were hungry and also because I was unaware of places like the disboards to get info.

The food was pretty average - Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, dressing, some kind of veggie, and rolls. I think there might have been salad too, but I can't remember. I think cranberry sauce as well since its my mom's favorite. The taste was alright. And they had Pumpkin Pie for desert, I believe. We ate when almost no one else was inside, around 2 PM - which made for a less than exciting Disney dining experience.

As we walked around the parks that day I noticed that every restaurant was offering the same thanksgiving food that we had just eaten...whether it was a counter service or sit down. I think it was around the same price too. I don't remember seeing ham on the menu, but I could be wrong.

Only difference I really noticed was at the buffet restaurants, you got the meal yourself, and at the counter service and sit down, it was pre-plated for you.

Considering the higher standard of Storytellers being inside the GCH and all, I would expect the food to be of a higher quality. Congrats on getting that last table and you'll have to let us all know how it turns out :thumbsup2

we will be there on thanksgiving however we chose to eat at Blue Bayou thats what the kids wanted. It's our first time over thanksgiving at disneyland but were hoping it will be a good one. However our dinner reservation isnt until almost nine at night my 5 year old will never last that long so we plan to eat an early lunch and a snack in between. WE plan to do that but we can't ever be sure until we see how the day goes.
