Thanksgiving "dinner" (6 adults and 7 kids)

hi guys,
So we never really do sit down for eating because of our large party sizes and ages of the kids (it's just not really worth it) and in turn I really don't pay attn to the options.
Since we will be there on Thanksgiving though I figured it might be worth the splurge even if the kids don't eat much.

If anyone has recommendations for a place to eat on Thanksgiving, please share
We will have 6 adults and 7 "kids" ages 3-13
It doesn't have to be "traditional" Thanksgiving food but pref not fancy in dress or food as the kids are typical kids who don't necessary need or want anything other then chicken nuggets

If you've never been to Hoop De Do, I recommend trying it! I ate there for the first time last Thanksgiving and it was perfect. Such a fun atmosphere with good food and a great show. Even my SO, who thought it would be stupid, loved it and said he would go back!

I agree, it will be slim pickings. With that said, you may do okay at a show. We arrived on Thanksgiving Day a few years ago, and decided that since we all are pretty much conditioned to eat my traditional meal we woudl nto try to recreate it in WDW, so we booked Spirit of Aloha. We enjoyed it and thought it was a good choice for us. I think either SOA or HDDR might be good choices.

If you do nto want once of these, look at the resorts. They may still have openings available.

If you have a hard time finding an ADR, try Garden Grove at Swan Resort. They can probably accommodate your party size.

Last Thanksgiving, I saw that the Wilderness Lodge Whispering Canyon had a Thanksgiving feast offered on Thanksgiving Day. Keep your eyes out for that! It did not debut until closer to November.

I wonder if Trails End in FW would have availability. I imagine there would be traditional Thanksgiving offerings there as well. I think folks who frequent that restaurant would know.

We did not care for it 6 years ago. Things could have changed. We were taken so much later than our ADR and it was so crowded everyone was on top of each other. They kept running out of food which was not being replaced very quickly and was fair. We have had good experiences at Boma.

I just did a quick search for 13 and they are doing a Mickey's Backyard BBQ that day at noon. I don't know what your park plans are, but that would be pretty darn fun, IMHO and it's definitely not fancy. There is also a 10:55 am at Whispering Canyon which might do the trick. I would decide pretty fast if you want something.

Your other options might include seeing what's available through opentable at Disney Springs (Planet Hollywood has availability right now) or calling TRex or Rainforest in Disney Springs to see if they have availability. Garden Grove at the Swan may also have availability - you could call them directly.

There is very, very little left now but you may be able to snag a cancellation. I would recommend you book something ASAP and then set up a reservation finder for your top choice or two and cross your fingers.

I find buffets to be challenging/not relaxing for families with kids but if your family doesn't mind it, Boma would be a great choice. 50's Primetime was tons of fun last year for thanksgiving - was fun to be eating in "mom's kitchen" since we weren't home to and people were extra interactive, it seemed. We had dinner at 'Ohana and though others seem to have issues there, it was fantastic. We were not seated past our reservation time, the food was great, service was great, and we were not rushed.

This year we are doing HDDR but I struggled to find 2 seats there 180 days out! Though a cancellation could always come up.

How about the QS ESPN eatery? No large party ADR needed, dress up, or foods that are out of the family's comfort zone. Also has TV sports watching.

Thanks for the tips. I know it's a long shot this late in the game but the whole trip is last minute for us.
If it works out, great but if not it will save me lots of money lol
