Thanksgiving dining ideas.....

My family and I have our second trip in the works. We'll be in WDW on Thanksgiving.

We're hoping to book a seating at either Liberty Tree or Crystal Palace (in that order, too).

In the event that we can't get one of those, what are some other options?

We're considering some of the following....
Whispering Canyon
Norway Storybook lunch (My wife's not a huge fan of this for our Thanksgiving meal.)
---We've done both of these before------

We're also thinking about these (which we've not done)...
Trail's End Buffet
Kona Cafe

What other thoughts are out there? Thanks!

We did the Yachtsman dinner for Thanksgiving, and it looked delicious and everything I could keep down was delicious! (I was sick from CRT the night before)

That sounds good. I'll take a look at their menu.

Another question: Do any restaurants change their menus for Thanksgiving day and offer something different or special?

Yup! We had pumpkin soup and sweet potatoes and turkey with cranberry sauce and I thinkkk they had mashed potatoes as well. Also there were mini pies!

Sorry to jump in, I was just wondering about your comment about getting sick from CRT-was this due to eating too much, allergies, or because the meal was just bad?

We were considering a CRT dinner during a holiday week for our next vacation, but if the food is that aweful, maybe we'll skip it...

Sorry to the OP for getting off topic but to answer your question...About three years ago we had a GG group of 12, so I can totally sympathize with some aspects of our dining problems. However, our server was rude and then I got sick, and I don't know if that is a coincidence! I ordered some sort of pasta because I am a vegetarian. Everyone else's meals came out on time and all together. The server did not say anything about my missing meal so I figured it would be coming out soon. Still about 5 minutes went by and he even came to check on us, so I mentioned that my meal was not out yet. Another 15 minutes go by with no sign of our waiter or my food. My dad finally flagged him down and he apologized and said it would be right out. Finally (this was probably 20 minutes after my group got their meals) he brought out a steak dish! I am a vegetarian and would never order this, so I POLITELY told him that this was the wrong dish. I don't know if it was because I was 18 and he thought he could talk down at me, or what, but he basically told me that he knew what I ordered and that he brought out what I had asked for. I said I would never order this because I am a vegetarian and he said "well I am sure that is what you asked for but if you wanted to change your mind you should have let us know earlier." My dad heard him say this and was FURIOUS! Like I said, I am a vegetarian so I would never order meat. He talked to the server and the manager who credited my meal back, and apologized. However when I was sick the next day during Thanksgiving it made me suspicious! Obviously many people enjoy CRT and everyone has a different experience, but that was mine and because of it I will never return. I know it would probably be fine next time, but I just associate it with a negative dining experience and would rather go elsewhere, but good luck if you decide to go!
