We arrive in Long Beach on Thanksgiving day around 1pm. Is it worth getting to the park around 3pm and spending the rest of the evening there? How busy is it on Thanksgiving day? It would only cost us $12 more per ticket to add the extra day but want to be sure it is worth it. I know evenings are ususally the most crowded but was thinking that maybe with turkey day it won't be?

Thanks!

Thanksgiving Day is one of the busiest days that I have ever spent there. Having said that, if it's only gonna be $12 extra per ticket, I'd still probably go for it.

Thanksgiving break is insane. Went a couple years back over the break for one day and hated the crowds. Not worth it for half a day.

Personally, for $12 per ticket, I would do it. While Thanksgiving week is crazy busy these days, Thanksgiving Day itself actually doesn't feel as bad as the days immediately before or after. I think this may be because a lot of people do spend a substantial portion of the day eating and celebrating with their families at the restaurants. We have had a decent time riding a few rides and catching a few shows when we go back into the parks after a mid-afternoon Thanksgiving dinner.

We are going to be there Wed-Sun that week and from everything I am hearing Thanksgiving day will probably be the least crowded. It will still be crowded, but you can certainly enjoy the day.

We were there Wed - Sat Thanksgiving 2010 and it was EXTREMELY busy. PACKED. It won't cost you much to add on that extra day, but what you need to realize is you will be walking into a sea of people. Will your family have fun? Probably, because it's Disney, it's always fun.:yay:

Please do not go there thinking that it won't be that busy because everyone is sitting out having pie or whatever, it is not that way!!!

We'll be there from November 21 to 28 and are hoping that the crowds decrease a little each day following Thanksgiving. We've never been at this time of year but we have experienced summer crowds, spring break crowds, and were in the parks on the day Star Tours and Ariels Undersea Adventure opened. I keep hearing that Thanksgiving is way worse. I hope we're prepared!

We were there for Thanksgiving in (I think) 2009, it was so not crowded at all......we loved it. We drove down on Wednesday after DBF and I got off work, checked into our hotel, went to DL Thursday, had an amazingly good turkey dinner at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, went back to the parks. Crowds were low, most rides were walk on all day. The Friday after Thanksgiving was the same way, crowds did pick up on Saturday and Sunday but Thursday and Friday were great. I would definitely pay the $12 to add a day.

We were there around that time last year. We left from our vacation the day before Thanksgiving, and let me tell ya I wanted to pull my hair out it was SOOOOO busy during those last three days. I dont even wanna know what the actual Thanksgiving day looked like. I've been to Disneyland on long weekends before, I have also been there during celebrity viewings of new attractions, I've seen peak season as well as Gay Day weekends or bat days, but never anything as crazy the few days before last Thanksgiving.
