So, I am a longtime Disneyland veteran and live only about 45 minutes away, with an AP for the past 3 years. This year my mom decided, rather than doing a big, costly, and time consuming Thanksgiving meal for us and the extended family, the immediate family would just do a day-trip to Disneyland (Mom, Dad, me, sister, brother, sister's boyfriend; Me, sister and sister's bf all have APs). Thankfully because she brought up this possibility early enough I was able to grab us Blue Bayou Fantasmic packages for dinner. They have gone to Disneyland on Thanksgiving Day in the past, but since I was away at college, I never went. They always thought the crowds were lower, but I'm hoping for some recent experiences as to what to expect for crowds. I have been on Black Friday the past few years and it was never too bad (yes busy, but not overwhelmingly busy). I tried to push for a park hopper or 2-day ticket to come back the next week for DCA, but it looks like they will just get 1-day tickets to DL.

I've gone on Thanksgiving for the past two years. I plan to go again this year. Crowds aren't bad at all, especially early in the morning. My family is back in Chicago so going solo to DL seems like a good use of my time. Hope you have a great time too! If we're lucky, they'll make candy canes on Tday.

We went on Thanksgiving and did the Blue Bayou Fantasmic package for dinner. Loved it! I'm vegetarian but my husband had the Thanksgiving dinner there and loved it. We did the late Fantasmic and it was EMPTY, we had a perfect spot. Have fun!

I'm sure it was :-). For future reference, the veggie tacos at Rancho del Zocalo are very good. If you get to LA, try the vegan tacos at all-vegan restaurant Real Food Daily. They're amazing.

Pics from my latest trip to the park (last Sunday) are here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/pics-from-the-park-today-11-5-17.3645721/#post-58432025

Rancho is a definite favorite for my family! I did enjoy the veggie tacos. Sometimes I just get a kids meal bean burrito though. I ask them to give me the veggies on the side instead of the raw veggies it normally comes with.

Will keep Real Food Daily in mind if we ever go to LA!

It is so reassuring to hear the Thanksgiving Day crowds aren't horrible! This is the first holiday trip for DD11 and I and we are going regardless, but hoping for the best! Now we impatiently await the unveiling of Thanksgiving Menu options....:bored:Love those shirts by the Way..have not decided on our matching shirts yet..but we are definitely wearing them!

We've gone for Thanksgiving for a while. We enjoy the Disneyland Hotel Thanksgiving Feast. Make reservations for food now.

We have the DL Thanksgiving Feast booked for this year. Any suggestions as far as seeing all the characters?
The lines for characters move pretty quickly. Just keep your eyes open for who they are rotating in and out. The band is fun too.
