Anything special for Thanksgiving Day in the parks? Any dinner suggestions??

We will be down there for Thanksgiving as well, we go every other Thanksgiving. We do not go into the parks on Thanksgiving, so I can't say much as to that, though I don't believe they do a special parade or we would go. I will tell you though that the restaurants are going to be hard to get into so close to your trip. I would suggest calling right away and seeing what is available. Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for and have a great trip!!!

this will be our first thanksgiving. we were going to arrive the day after, but the airline cancelled the flight so we are leaving thanksgiving at 12 55 am to arrive by 9 am on thursday.

i would try to get a dining reservation asap if you dont have one already. when i called, they were all booked up already. we luckily got the cape may clam bake at the beach club resort.

i was told by a castmember that instead of just asking for each place, they can put in the date and check all places that have openings. when i called to see if anything opened up, they said beirgarten had an opening and a place at the dolphin did too. but people cancel all the time so you may get lucky and get what you want.

good luck!!

Don't they still do that big Thanksgiving Day Parade which is broadcast on TV?

No and I am sooo bummed about that, the Very Merry Christmas Party took the place of that and does not run Thanksgiving week starts the 30th the day we leave!!!

Tusker House at AK and Prime Time Cafe at HS were the only available for Thanksgiving Day, which is better??

We enjoy PT, the food is good (homecooking type, probably good for a holihay meal). I don't know about Tusker House, though I hear the breakfast is good, beyond that I do not know.
Have fun where ever you go...

We're eating at Crystal Palace on Thanksgiving Day! We usually eat at Liberty Tree for that day, but it was booked solid! Anywhere you go is great because you're at DISNEY!!!

We considered going during Thanksgiving 09 but ended up changing our reservations to December. If we were to eat a Thanksgiving dinner at WDW we'd probably do private dining with candles... make it romantic since we don't have kids. For family fun... I don't know what to suggest, sorry. Have fun in any case! :wizard:

The parks are packed on Thanksgiving Day. We're avoiding the main parks and going to Blizzard Beach that day. We have a very early ADR for the Cape May breakfast then off to BB for the day. I got really lucky and was able to get an ADR for dinner at the Yachtsman's Steakhouse. It's early, at 4:20 pm. But at least it's at our resort :) I made all our ADRs in July and let me tell ya, it wasn't easy getting them then!

That evening we plan on heading to Downtown Disney. The boys to Disney Quest and mommy and my little one are going shopping! :thumbsup2

The best part about going for T-giving, is if the parks are crowded you can just go enjoy the xmas decorations at the resorts. We do a lot of wandering in Nov.

I was told it would probably be way to cold for Blizzard Beach Thanksgiving week, my 5 year old really wants to go but I have not planned it in, now you have me wondering???
We are doing Animal Kingdom Thanksgiving Day and Tusker House for 4pm Dinner then hubby and I got a late evening reservation at Yachtsman Steak House leaving the kiddos for an early bed night with Grandma and Grandpa.
I just made all my dining within the last 2 weeks and got really lucky, even harder to book ones we got, YEAH! Hoop Dee Doo Review, Cinderellas Table, Park Fare, Candlelight Proc, Ohana, and Narcooses. :) I think there have been a lot of cancellations.

My DS10 requested Chef Mickey's for Thanksgiving Dinner (that's where we had Christmas dinner last year, at his request) so that's where we'll be.:dance3:

Last year it was in the 80s during the day and cool in the evenings. Just one night got really cold that we have photos with the boys all bundled up in their stroller with jackets and blankets :) It actually looks cute since we were at the Osborne Lights that night.

But otherwise, it was really nice weather. I packed a little of everything, clothing-wise and I wore capris all week with my boys and DH in shorts everyday.

My DS4 is DYING to go to Blizzard Beach. He's been watching "Extreme Waterparks" on the travel channel daily :rotfl2: Don't rule it out :)

We'll be at Chef Mickey's too. That is where we eat Thanksgiving dinner every other year. (The other year we are at home.)
You'll be fine to go to the waterparks during the day. The beauty of that time of year is warm days and cool nights... just beautiful!!!

Have been at WDW for the past two years during the week of Thanksgiving. In 2006 we spent the day at Epcot with our dinner meal at LeCelliers. The park was not too crowded and the dinner was great. In 2007 we ate our dinner our our condo and then went to the Magic Kingdom. It was very crowded and we did not get to ride too many things.

We are having lunch at the coral reef for thanksgiving, think we may just eat dinner at our food court that night

We will also be in Disney for Thanksgiving...have all our other ADR's and I COMPLETELY dropped the ball on the Thanksgiving meal! :confused3 How did that happen? I am SUCH a good planner. I guess I got too excited and thought we'd just eat somewhere else?? :rotfl2: Get in without reservations...:rotfl: :rotfl: Seriously? Seriously! I guess will do the food court or figure something out! At least we'll be in Disney so it can't be that bad!!! :wizard:
