Hi,

Made my reservation at BCV for next thanksgiving, got one of the last Dedicated 2bd. Wondering how crowded it is during that week?

Anyone been then...was it ok thurs with everyone else at home and then the weekend....good? bad? ugly?

Also anyone eat at one of the places that do special TG meals and how was it? I have read the menu's but they mostly all say traditional TG meal.

Thanks :3dglasses

my wife and i headed down to WDW this past thanksgiving weekend. we stayed at WL and arrived around 500 on thursday. did not head to any parks, so not sure how crowded it was. but we had reservations for Whispering Canyon Cafe at 930 that night (earliest ressie we could get) and were able to get in at 700 instead. the restaurant was not all that busy.

the TG meal at WCC was.....OK. nothing spectacular. we were glad that we had the DDP and could use a table service meal for that, though, as opposed to paying upwards of $30+ per person. they served country-style buffet at your table....turkey...ham...chicken...mashed potatoes...sweet potatoes...green bean casserole...cranberry sauce...w/pumpkin pie for dessert.

the crowds at the parks on friday and saturday were HEAVY....very crowded streets and long lines. went to DTD on sunday - again, very crowded. by monday, everything had cleared out. we went to epcot monday and mgm tuesday and it was a totally different "world" than it had been the previous friday and saturday.

one thing is that all the parks and resorts will be decorated for the holidays by the time you go at TG....this was SPECTACULAR! take some time to visit some of the other resorts to see how beautifully they've been decorated. you won't be sorry!

We went to WDW over Thanksgiving this past year. On Thansgiving Day, we ate at Artist Point. I hadn't wanted to, only because it's rather expensive. However, I must say it was excellent, and I'm glad DH forced the issue! Everything was perfect-the food, the service, and the atmosphere. It wasn't at all the loud, hectic, craziness you might expect from a busy holiday meal. As far as the weekend crowds, I went to MK Friday nite-I figured it would be packed, but I really wanted to see a certain DISer's son's band. I was pleasantly surprised-yes, it was crowded, but not insanely packed. Saturday afternoon and evening I went to AK, and it was very quiet there. But then, that's a quiet place after it gets dark. Got a picture with Eeyore without a wait, and I rode Triceratop Spin 3 times without getting off.

Thank you for the replies. Sounds like it has the potential to be crowded like i thought. I've eaten at both WCC and AP and they are both good so i'll put them on the list for maybe TG. I agree about the resorts i was down the week before Christmas this year and the ones i saw were beautiful, i didn't make it to the GF so maybe i can see them start the gingerbread house this time.

Anyone else with thoughts? :confused3

We arrived in WDW on Thanksgiving Day in '04. Stayed at BWV. WE ate at Chef Mickey's. It was surprisingly good. I had a great turkey dinner, dh had his roast beef since he hates turkey, and dd had the requisite mac and cheese!!!
As far as crowds go....MGM was packed that afternoon. We did go over to Epcot that night and it was very busy. The day after, Friday, it was a zoo no matter where we went. My dad drove up for a visit and it was chaotic...wall to wall people in Epcot. We found that MK was the worst park to go to...at least until Sunday night. Then the people started going home. When we left on Wed morning, it was quite nice at the parks.

We went in 2004 and it was very busy in the parks, even on Thanksgiving day. I can't help you with the dining because we just ate wherever we felt like it at the parks. One thing that is nice is the Christmas decorations that are just starting at that time.
