Hi all,

I am planning a trip to Disneyland with the kids and here are our options: Thanksgiving weekend (Thursday-Sunday in the parks), the week after Christmas (sometime between Dec. 26-31) or Martin Luther King Weekend (Saturday-Tuesday in the parks).

Which would have the LEAST crowds. I HATE crowds. :goodvibes

THANKS!!!!!!!!

It's not Christmas. That is the busiest week of the year.

I would suggest Thanksgiving crowdwise it's close but not the same as MLK but the park is in Holiday season. Also MLK weekend will have more rehabs taking place.

Yup, agree. ::yes::

I figured Christmas week was bad.

I am surprised that Thanksgiving weekend and MLK weekend would be the same crowdwise. Interesting.

The reason is AP holders who make up a large portion of DLR guests are blocked over the Thanksgiving weekend. So it takes a major holiday and levels it off to a minor one. Many people find the Thanksgiving day crowds suprising in a good way after the holiday.

I'm not sure that I'd agree with the folks who are saying that Thanksgiving isn't bad crowd-wise. We've been there on Thanksgiving before, and it was IN-SANE. I would say Christmas and Thanksgiving are equally crowded.

If you wanna see DLR during the holidays Thanksgiving weekend for sure. T weekend might even be less crowded then MLK weekend.... see *this* for more info on that.

Re: Thanksgiving crowds *or lack of IMO* see my post *here*

We went over Thanksgiving week of '09. The Mon and Tuesday before were really crazy crowds. Wednesday was our beach day, so I don't know on that, and then Thursday and Friday were relatively light crowds. Especially after the chaos of Monday and Tuesday. :) I know several others have talked about that these last couple of years.

Crowds are odd in that what some person considers "very crowded" others may consider "uncrowded." I think part of it comes from your expectations, and also luck of being in the right place at the right time. (If you're expecting an uncrowded park, 40 minutes for Space Mountain or Indy may seem disappointingly long. When I've gone expecting the parks to be a madhouse, 40 minutes for those major rides seemed jaw-droppingly short!)

I think it's pretty undisputed that the week after Christmas is crazy-busy, and the evidence for the last couple years points to the days immediately AFTER Thanksgiving being substantially less crowded than the days immediately BEFORE. In not that many weeks, we should know if that holds true for 2011.
