I am looking for ideas for a Centerpiece for the table for Thanksgiving. What are you doing or what ideas do you have?

There's no room on our table for a centerpiece!!!! ;)

I really like candle light the best, it gives such a warm feeling. I am having trouble finding dripless candles this year, however. Next favorite is a fresh flower arrangement in autumn colors that come in a short vase, ususally found at the florist. Or, you could always do both! Happy Thanksgiving. :)

I usually place my kids' art work that they made at school as the centerpiece.

Sometimes, I'll have my kids make something too that Thursday morning.

I'd would put some pine cones and/or pumpkins and/or candles to make it look festive.

Have a good one.

I always wanted toget one of those cookie bouquets as a centerpiece. They were expensive tho.

I have a hurricane vase. I fill it with mini pumpkins. Cheap, easy, pretty.

There's not a lot of room on our table either, but I ordered some pinecone-shaped beeswax candles which I'm hoping will get here on time! Package tracking has them arriving Wednesday.

You can never go wrong with flowers and a few candles. Depending on what you get, the flowers aren't that expensive and they'll last at least a week, so you can enjoy them long after your guests are gone. They may even outlast the leftovers! :)

Or, you can get a length of those fall leaf garlands, place it down the middle of the table length-wise, and intermix tea-light candles and teeny tiny mini pumpkins on either side of the leaves. This is nice and low so people aren't trying to talk around/through a large/tall center piece.

In the past I've taken a three wick candle in a orangey or browny hue, put it on a base of some sort--I have a couple that are made for candles, but you could improvise. Then I've gotten a "strand" of fall leaves from a craft store and wrapped them around the base of teh candle. Festive and inexpensive.

Right now I have one of those beaded placemats in green under a bowl with 2 turkey candle holders on either side with some sparkly green apple colored candles in them. I got it all from Pottery Barn.

At dinner I am putting the nuts, and fruit in the bowl.I can leave this on the table when we bring out the chestnuts, and desserts.

I save some of those mini pumpkins, and cut a whole in them for a little candle. I spread those around the table. They're pretty, and simple, and don't take up a lot of room.

I saw something on the Today show the other morning where they hollowed out apples and put votive candles in them. I think we might try that this year.

On the Food Network All Star Thanksgiving they did a thing where they put a couple tapers on a plain white dish and then surrounded it with fresh cranberries - it was simple but very pretty.

I saw something on the Food channel over the weekend that I thought was kinda cute...You take a small pumpkin and turn it into a vase! She, I think it may have been Rachael Ray, cleaned out the pumpkin and added water and then stuck a bouquet of mums in it. It looked very festive!

I've used a pumpkin as a centerpiece before. I wanted it to last, so I actually bought a fake one at Michaels. I cut the top off and put a small clay flowerpot in the top. I added fake fall leaves and some fake orange berries on a stick (I can't remember what they're called). It turned out very pretty.

We don't have Thanksgiving at our home. We go one day to my mother's house and another day to DH's parents. So I don't really do a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

However, our kitchen table has a beanie baby turkey in the center right now. The dining room table has a simple fall candle. Both stay until the decorations start going up for Christmas.

I like taking a small baking pumpkin, cutting off the top and hollowing it out. Then I just put some wet florist foam in it, and make an arrangement with some fresh mixed flowers from the grocery store. I've seen these arrangements for $40-70 on florist web sites. I can usually get a pumpkin for $2-4 and flowers from BJ's (like a Costco or Sams) for $13. So I save a ton of $$, and people are always impressed.

It's really so easy to do even if you haven't arranged a single flower in your lifetime. It's almost impossible to have it turn out looking bad. I'll bet this would be a great project for kids to help out with.

I've done these types of container arrangements for various events....I've used teacups for a bridal shower and the pumpkin for Thanksgiving. I've been tossing around the idea of using a log for Christmas....but I'm not sure I really like that idea. I'm always on the hunt for my next floral arrangement container.
