Thanksgiving Camping turns into off site with family in May

I just called and made Tyra a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservation princess: for Friday morning (the first day of our trip) at the DTD location - we are having lunch at T-rex so I assume that's where we would have headed that morning anyway. I booked her the Crown package so she can get her nails done too - it was only like $5 more. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep this, will have to see how the savings account is looking as the trip gets closer.

I just talked to Tyler and figured I’d let him decide on Devin’s surprise (Tyler will be going along too and since he’s older I decided I’d let him have a choice in the matter). His options are a Pirate cruise, pirate league or the cool dude package at BBB. I really think he’s going to pick the cruise – both Tyler and Devin had their dollar store pirate swords out fighting in the living room when I walked in the door yesterday pirate:

Two questions that I'm sure I could find the answers to if I did a proper search but oh what key words to use

1 - What time do the buses start running to DTD? We will have the truck if I need to drive myself but I'd much rather let Disney take care of the transportation instead. Plus if I do schedule something special this morning for the boys I know hubby will want the truck - I guess I could always have him just drop us off first.

2 - Where do they do the photo session for the BBB in DTD??? Is it in the World of Disney Store or I think I remember reading somewhere about having to truck it half way across DTD.

Wish I could help but we have never done BBB. Although my 18 year old DD wants to go next time! :rotfl:

Ohhh I cant WAIT to see pics from BBB and TREX. Both on the "to do"list for my kids :goodvibes

I think it would be cool to do myself but just can justify the price x2:rolleyes1

Since we are doing both these on our first day I'm sure I'll be able to upload the pictures and write my reviews while we are there - I'm going to try to do a live trip report but not sure if I want to splurge for internet the entire time and also if I'll be able to keep up with it while still relaxing and having fun so no promises.

So last night I was working on a photo scavenger hunt for the kids (I hope my cousin's family will join us on this). I think it will probably be a photo scavenger hunt - I don't know if I should make it timed - I think it would be more fun to visit a couple of these places a day and really enjoy them rather than just finding them, snapping a photo, then running onto the next item on the list.

it's still a work in progress but here's the first draft

Not a Disney update but an update just the same. This weekend was soo laid back and relaxing, then comes Tuesday and bam welcome back to reality. T-ball last night, 4-H weigh in tonight, cleaning and grocery shopping tomorrow night then Saturday and Sunday Tyler has a 4-H event – on top of all that Tyra’s 3rd birthday party is this weekend too – what was I thinking when I planned that one:scared1:

I’ve got 40 cupcakes done and cooling. The candy mold for the base of her big top cupcake is also done while the big top cupcake itself is in the oven baking now. I guess tomorrow night I will try to icing all and then this weekend I’ll put the candy pieces on top of the cupcakes. I'll be sure to post photos when it's all done.

Any cute ideas for a Tinkerbell theme I should consider? We've got decorations covered but I'm at a loss for games other than some coloring pages I've printed.

I just won 2 tickets from our local radio station to go to a blue crabs game (minor league baseball) I’ll pick up the tickets later today while out doing some inspections for work but it sounds like they are good for most any game (excluding holidays) – just like the tickets my good friend gave us. We used 3 of the tickets from my friend last week so we still have one left and since under 5 are free I have 1 left - meaning we have another cheap family night out (even with free tickets I still spent like $30+ in food.

Adorable cake! Was that made with that Giant Cupcake thing that I see on TV?:confused3 Happy Birthday, Tyra!

I LOVE my Big Top Cupcake!!!! I usually make a base using chocolate melts and then when that hardens I remove it and bake the cake - it looks neat - just like a cupcake wrapper and the kids love the chocolate. I have to find a container to put the thing in though - don't have anything big enough. I iced the cake the night before the party and didn't put the candy pieces on until that morning but the icing had already set so it doesn't look as clean as I had hoped it would.

I just booked the Pirate Adventure at the GF for the boys our first full day – this is the same morning that Tyra will have her BBB appointment at DTD. I think this divide and conquer method will work well for these extra events b/c the boys won’t want to watch for an hour as Tyra gets “princessy” and she’s too young for the pirate cruise so it will be a good balance for all. I just hope we aren’t trying to do too much b/c we also will have out T-rex lunch at 12:30 – I know the boys will get a sandwich on the cruise but even if they do eat before we are going more for the atmosphere so I don’t think they will mind.

I’m a little bummed this morning. I think my cousin and her family are going to push their Disney trip back a year, there is no way I could do that to my kids or myself. They are trying to get pregnant and she would just rather not go to Disney pregnant so I can understand that but I was looking forward to them camping with us at the Fort especially since the only reason we are going back again was to tag along with their family – at least that’s how I sold it to Chris:confused3

I swear I couldn't commit to anything if my life depended on it:scratchin.

After thinking about this little plan more and more - I've called and changed Tyra's BBB reservation at DTD to 10:30 am - this way we can all get up early and go to the Grand Floridian to see the Gingerbread house and then send the boys off on their Pirate Adventure. After they sail away Chris & I will take Tyra to her reservation, hopefully they will take her in on time (or early) and we can both watch the transformation. No matter how far along Tyra one of us will head back to the GF to pick up the boys at 11. Who ever stays with Tyra will take her for her photo shoot (princess:- I still haven't figured out where we go in DTD for this). We'll meet back up before 12:30 for our lunch at T-rex. I think it will be a little more running around this way but we'll each get to experience a little bit of all the kids' activities and by doing them on the same day we'll have 2.5 days with nothing planned - well there is always a plan but there is lots of flexibility - go to the beach, mini golf, Disney Quest, water park, what ever we wake up and feel like doing.

I love reading other trip reports here and found a few have ordered settings from ebay for a great price and then done a mother/daughter pick a pearl experience at Japan in EPCOT - I know Tyra is only 3 but she loves jewelry and I think this will be something fun for both of us while the boys are off riding Soarin or something else she can't do just yet. I found a great price on a carriage pendant on ebay so I bought 2 of them - they came with a cheap chain that I know I will replace for myself and probably for TinyGirl too but I love these already even without the pearl inside.

and the back -

and just because - opened

So with my cousin no longer going on this trip with us, I no longer have someone to split the cost of the photopass CD with. Can I even ask questions here about PhotoPass Shares here? I know they are no longer arranged on here but can anyone point me in a reliable direction where I can look for more information on this- I really want the CD but the thought of paying $100 is a little :scared1: for me – my brother says I’m soo cheap that I squeak when I walk.

Tyra had her 3 y/o physical today. She’s 37.5 inches tall (and all of 31 pounds but that’s irrelevant) – Barnstormer is a go as long as it’s still open at Thanksgiving and Kali is actually now a possibility for a family ride.

It will also open up a few more options for her when we go to Kings Dominion next weekend (we purchased season passes at the end of last year so that we could go a few times this summer since we knew we would have to slow down our camping to save for Disney.

Devin is at 43 inches so maybe Space could be open for him. I’m not going to tell him anything though, not sure how he’ll do with coasters – when he was 2 he hated them but would ride, last year he started warming up to them a little, so we’ll use our KD trips as test runs.
