I'm planning on going "home" for the first time next year at Thanksgiving and want to pick some brains....

Is anyone going this year or next? If so, where are you eating: at a restaurant or in your "home"?

For anyone who is going to eat a restaurant: what restaurant did you choose and why? How far in advance did you book PS?

if you are going to eat out - Liberty tree tavern - it is great for Thanksgiving - but we may be there next year - I am probably going to Publix and get their Thanksgiving dinner....

if you don't have a car - then you need a PS I think all the PS except for some on the dinner shows can be booked at 90 days do it - sometimes WDW Dinning starts easlier for Thanksgiving I would call at 120 days and ask them for sure when they intend to start Thanksgiving PS...

remember that the parks are going to be crowded - not like Easter or Christmas week - but more like summer than they use to be - more kids get this week off from school than ever.

We are arriving Thanksgiving Day and are eating in Germany. I know it isn't the traditional dinner, but we like it. That will make it two years in a row. We made the reservation a couple of weeks ago. I am sure other places are harder to get into, but Germany wasn't.

I am so envious! Having Thanksgiving at OKW or HH is my dream. But part of me is thinking how terrible I am to have this dream. We have 2 sons, one 23 yo, living on his own, one 20 yo and in college. I'm so embarrassed to admit that I look forward to the year neither one can come home for Thanksgiving, because then I can plan Thanksgiving at DVC. There-now I've confessed my deep, dark secret! Please tell me I'm not totally an awful parent!

We are planning on Thanksgiving of 2004 at the BWV. We will probably be eating at the Flying Fish Cafe. It will be our first Thanksgiving at WDW. This year we will be there for Christmas and New Year's and will be able to take advantage of our annual pass by going next Thanksgiving.

This will be or 3rd T'day Home. First year wa ate at the YC/BC Convention Center - big spread of food, but not the homey feeling. Booked early. Last Year we ate at YC Galley. OK meal, a little more homey feeling. Also booked early. This year, booked LAST WEEK at Olivia's.

We'll be at OKW next year. My sister and her crew will be at MVC Grande Vista. They'll be 11 of us in total, unless we convince mom and dad to go. Does any one have suggestions?

To be honest, turkey isn't one of my, or my kids, all time favorites. This is probably the only day of the year I eat it.

We leave for OKW next Friday. I am SO excited. I usually have Thanksgiving alone with my husband and kids. We live far from all other family and we get together for Xmas, so Thanksgiving for me is always kind of a bummer. NOT THIS YEAR! My parents are meeting us at OKW and we have 6pm reservations at Boma, our favorite. Not really "traditional" but wonderful anyhow. I can't wait to see the new fireworks and Mickey's Philharmagic!

PS: I made the dinner reservation the first day I could; I believe it was 120 days out. Had to hold it with a credit card as it's a holiday.

We are going to OKW in 2004 for Thanksgiving week, also! We are doing a family bash with MIL, SIL, BIL and his family.

We have gotten the Thanksgiving meal at Publix in the past at WDW and I believe we will do that again on this Thanksgiving trip. We learned the hard way how crowded the parks are, so we are not doing much with the parks that day except for maybe Epcot for the morning and the kids will do DisneyQuest that day and we will get back together for the Thanksgiving meal. We like having the leftovers the remainder of the trip!

Check out this page for making ressies at a WDW restaurant:

We will be staying at VWL for Thanksgiving for the first time. I know we won't get a traditional dinner, but we have reservations at Shula's Steakhouse at the Dolphin.

Big Dolphins fans.

We are planning on spending Thanksgiving 2004 at our new home at SSR. With the service available for take out or delivery from their food area I am hoping to have the main meal in our room followed by our traditional watching of the Cowboy game/nap time (which may be at the same time depending on how the Cowboys are doing). When we went last year during Thanksgiving we had our meal at the Garden Grill in the Land Pavilion. It was okay, but I think I would choose another restaurant next time. I like their food in general, but it was not a real "homey" feeling for Thanksgiving. If you go to Deb Willis' site at www.wdwig.com, she has the restaurants listed that are doing traditional meals for Thanksgiving.

Hey Rochelle! We would like to go to VWL for Thanksgiving 2004 if my addon waitlist comes through. We'll probably do a "traditional" thanksgiving meal at a buffet somewhere. My only disappoint will be the COWBOY game as I am a fan and DH hates them and is no fun to watch it with so I'll miss having my mom and family to watch it with:(

We plan to be at SSR for Thanksgiving 2004. I need the homey feeling of turkey and dressing so we will either get the dinner from Publix or cook it myself. I am just too traditional to go out to a restarant. My in-laws are planning a move to Florida soon so hopefully they will visit for the day and my DH's grandparents live nearby so they may visit, too. The more I think about it, a restaurant sounds more relaxing ...but I don't think I will be able to do it. If we do, though, it would be Liberty Tavern.
