Thanksgiving at WDW???

Ideas please - is it going to be SO manic? Is it going to be worth even trying for a ps? and does anyone have any recommendations for thanksging dinner I'm not too bothered about a traditional turkey roast but the others may enjoy it, do you know if there are any extra parades/shows especially for this?

Would love to know this too as will be at Disney for that day too. We are going from the 19th and coming home 3rd dec.

Donna as this is a conversation between me and you I thought I'd let you know that I found some answers on another thread,
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_thks.htm this has a list of the special dinners put on for thanksgiving but I'm still undecided whether to go for a traditional turkey roast. I'll have to ask the other members of the party to decide, as we'll have to ps remember that a 90 day ressie has to be made on august 26!! and we'll have to get in fast 'cos it'll be busy!

I got to florida the day after thanksgiving and it was horrendous!

It took two hours to check in a the caribean beach resort, (our trip had been booked a year it wasnt a late thing) they told us that we had to wait because we were checking in at early evening and that we should have beem there early morning (i pointed out we had been flying since 4am there time)

the parks were stacked and the staff seemed run off there feet

the second week there was much better i would go the week after thanks giving if i were u

We are going 12th - 26th November and Thanksgiving is on our last Thursday (24th). Will the 24th be crazy in the parks and just out and about in general or is mainly busy the weekend after Thanksgiving?

Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Darth Turnip - I'm going exactly same dates as you, so we should have a very quiet first week, I've already had advice that to go shopping on the day after thanksgiving will be very busy but there are loads of bargains, and the day or two running up to thanksgiving will be busy in the parks, but as we'll have done all the 'must-dos' by then I think it'll be a nice time to take to the waterparks/mini golf etc. Where are you staying? I'm at the ASMo with my mum and son and friends. flying virgin from lgw.

Hi Carolfoy, Thanks for the info, I was thinking along the lines of we'll have already done the must do's so we'll just bite the bullet and get on with it. Will be interesting to maybe sample the atmosphere in the parks while it's busy as we've only ever been during the quieter months.

We are flying from Manchester and staying on the 192 in Kissimmee. We went in April/May last year and were going to wait until same time next year. However, the lure of the Mouse was too much for us. I'm sure you understand

A bit of sunshine in the middle of November will be soooooooooooooooo welcome!!!!!

We have been a couple of times over Thanksgiving and have found the crowds ok just some days busier than others but nothing excessive. It is our favourite time to go if your lucky you'll get to see some of the christmas celebrations as well.The bargains you can pick up are great just after Thanksgiving Personally I wouldn't worry too much.

Not sure what to do Carol and to be honest, I haven't really given it much thought. Knowing my lot, we will probably stick to the delicious steaks we get while we're over there and save the big Turkey dinner for Chrimbo back home.
