Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World

We normally go to Gatlinburg every year the week leading up to Christmas and DH will not budge from that tradition so I am thinking about going to Disney for Thanksgiving. This thread has been very helpful and I'm wondering if someone could tell me what would be better to do. A.) Go to Disney the weekend before Thanksgiving thru the following weekend after or B.) go to Disney the day after Thanksgiving thru the following week? For crowds & everything, which would be better?

We're arriving Thanksgiving day and staying until Friday the next week. We're hoping Friday and Saturday will be our only crazy crowded days.

We arrived the Wed. after Thanksgiving in 2007 and walked onto rides including Splash Mt. right before the 3:00 parade - so low crowds!
