Thanks to Bama Ed for the encouragement to start a thread.
We are going to be at the Fort in a PUP site from Nov. 19th-27th. Who else is making the trip? We are going to bring a few Thanksgiving decorations as well as a few for Christmas. We are gonna change overnight. Not as impressive as WDW but should be fun just the same. What about you guys, what are your plans?

We will be there at Thanksgiving. Staying in a cabin again this time.

What are your dates, massmickeypal? Are you bringing any decorations for the deck? A string of Christmas lights would look nice.

My family of 4 will be there 11/21 - 11/23 for tent camping (preferred site). We are only going to do camping for 2 nights since I don't know if my 3-year-old will like it or not. It is the first time camping for my family. We will bring Christmas decorations.

We, DW and 2 teenage sons, arrive at the fort on the 19th and leave the 28th. Then the kids are flying home with friends and we are heading to the Polynesian for a couple nights to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary
Love your idea to decorate and will do so - thanks for the suggestion! We are using our DVC points to stay at the fort. Are we crazy? We just love it so much there and have spent so many happy visits it made sense to us.

Just booked full hook up site for myself,DH,and 2 DD's for Nov.26th thru Dec.5th.Yay!!!!!!:yay::woohoo::cheer2::banana::cool1:
Switched ressie to 1 night in full hookup and the rest to a pop up site, requested 1500 loop, hope we get it but anywhere in the Fort is ok with us!!!

We will be there on Thanksgiving, eating at Trails End and staying until November 27th, then switching over the Saratoga Springs Resort until November 29th.

Leaving in 11 days!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Will be there the 21st thru the 25th. The excitement is building at the house...but with a 6 year old and 4 year old did you expect anything less.

See ya there!!!!!!

P.S. Might even try my hand at a Trip Report.

For you families that will be at the Fort over Thanksgiving, I'd be interested to know what your plans are for your Thanksgiving feast? Do you still cook a turkey in your camper? Do you use an electric roaster? Do you cut down on all the trimmings?

Just interested in hearing how you manage. Thanks.

Thanksgiving dinner for us will probably be STEAK. My husband can cook a mean one. Maybe some Rice a Roni to go with it. That is our favorite thing to cook in the station wagon.

Well, we won't be at the camper. My wife's and I first trip before kids to WDW was this time of year and we ate at the Brown Derby for Thanksgiving and it was just a magical night. Therefore we will be eating there again. I am sure it won't be as romantic with our two boys along (ages 12 and 9) but I am hoping it will still be magical!

We will be @FW...last year we camped at Flagler beach and this is what we did..

We do a turkey breast in the crockpot...I also make stuffing in the crockpot then mirco Oreda Ida mashed potatoes (frozen) jar gravy (there is no way I am making gravy in an RV) store bought rolls, cranberry sauce and green bean casserole in the crockpot or micro (yes, I have the trio) I love my crockpots especially when camping..just throw the slow cooker liner in and there you go!
I take out a frozen pumpkin pie to make it easier. We eat on higher end decorative paper plates...less dishes are better!

We are still undecided on our plans. When we spent Christmas in Florida before we went all out, ham and all the trimmings. This year for Thanksgiving we are thinking about doing something different.

We never get to swim in Michigan on Thanksgiving, and we are arriving on Thanksgiving so are thoughts now are to swim and relax, maybe eat by the pool or have a picnic on the beach. We just want to have fun with the kids and let them do something different.

Ya'll need to find other DIS'sers by putting out our sign.

There is a graphic in our sticked FAQ thread.

See post #3.

The lime green Mickey Head is a DIS-wide symbol. Whether it's the DIS Dining Board, the Resorts Board, Creative DISsigns Board, you'll see it all over. Even in the parks. The Camping Board has customized it with Musket Mickey.

At a minimum, opposite click the graphic and print it. Stick it in the window of your trailer/rv so folks can see it from the road at your site and others can find you.

More over, you can write your user name under Musket Mickey or do it with a Disney font.

Good luck!

Me, DH, 4 boys & the dog will be there 11/20 - 12/3. Premium site hopefully in the 800 or so loop! We will have decorations :)) And Green DisBoard magnet stickers on the hitch. Feel free to stop by and say hello!

For us, it's dinner at Trails End, no cooking, no dishwashing and all the food you can eat. Everyone is already looking forward to it. :santa:
